Neil Cragg takes European 2WD Electric Off-road title

Neil Cragg takes European 2WD Electric Off-road title

This week’s 2016 EFRA European Electric Off-road Championships are held in Valladolid, Spain. First up was the 2WD event that saw the battle between UK’s Neil Cragg, campaigning Team Associated’s new B6D buggy and Germany’s Jörn Neumann, running a prototype of the forthcoming Serpent SRX2 Mid Hybrid low-medium traction buggy. Jörn would TQ three of the five qualifying rounds but the better tie-breaker time handed Neil the overall TQ. Behind the two Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski would line up third on the grid. In the opening A-main, Jörn would follow Neil in his slipstream but never found a way past and so the top 3 would end the leg as they started. A2 then had Jörn taking the win ahead of Michal while Neil had to settle for fifth due to massive traction rolling problems. In the third and decisive A-main, Neil brought home a very narrow win, only some two tenth of a second ahead of Michal while Jörn came in fourth. Ultimately and with two wins, Neil Cragg would take the 2016 2WD title from Jörn while young Michal rounded out the podium in third.
