JQ grabs 10th Nordic Championship title

The 2016 Nordic Championships were held in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend. The race, catering to racers from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, was TQed by HB’s David Ronnefalk, followed by Christoffer Svensson (Mugen) and JQRacing’s own Joseph Quagraine. The times were really close in qualifying with the rounds being decided on the last laps. David and JQ raced in the same semi final, and battled for the entire race, with David eventually coming out on top. The pace was fast enough to place them 1 and 2 on the grid for the main, with Svensson winning the other semi lining up third. The main was 60 minutes, and was pretty exciting for the first 10 minutes, with multiple lead changes, but then Ronnefalk clicked into a higher gear and pulled away. JQ and Svensson would go on battling for second place for almost 45 minutes. At that time, Ronnefalk just lapped JQ and flamed out right after handing JQ the lead. The last 15 minutes JQ just maintained his lead over Svensson who fought off a hard charging Marcus Sandberg (Mugen), and crossed the finish line winning his 10th Nordic Championship.

Schelle Racing Innovations 10 for 10 Onyx bearings

Schelle’s popular Onyx high-quality ball bearings are now available as a 10 for $10 deal. The greased ABEC3 standard bearings sport combined rubber and metal seals, making them ideal for kits and RTR vehicles as well as both 1/8th and 1/10th scale cars as they have a lower starting torque, making them run with less drag compared to other rubber-sealed bearings. Burak Kilic sweeps North German off-road regionals Rd2

Burak Kilic sweeps North German off-road regionals Rd2

Round two of the North German 1/8th off-road regionals was held in Kiel over the weekend. The race schedule saw practice on Saturday followed by the qualifiers and finals on Sunday and despite a very good track preparation by the club, the track was already pretty beat up after Saturday’s practice. The start of the 30-minute main final, run in pretty hot weather conditions on Sunday afternoon, saw Agama’s Berkan Kilic, coming from the 3 spot on the grid, jumping into the lead while pole position holder Burak Kilic (Agama) dropping back to fourth. But the young man would soon recover to fight for the win in a 3-horse race with his brother as well as Mugen’s Phillip Guschl. Ultimately Burak would grab the win after nice and fair battles with Phillip and Berkan who completed the podium result in second and third respectively.

Thanks to Abdullah Kilic for the report.
