Sonic SB.21-5T buggy engine

Sonic Nitro Engines have introduced their new competition buggy engine called the SB.21-5T. All components have been made from the finest materials to ensure high durability and reliability. Equipped with a 5 port sleeve and a CNC machined flat piston, the engine provides great power over the entire RPM range while having a very efficient fuel consumption which is crucial in the finals. The 14mm turbo crankshaft is equipped with two high density weights to improve the overall balance and filled with a silicone insert to reduce the inertia and improve the fuel flow. The special back plate, the optimized crankcase and the “knife edged” aerodynamic conrod help to further reduce turbulence inside the engine. A special lightweight cooling head ensures excellent heat dispersion to keep the engine temperature at a good level. High quality Swiss ball bearings, a dust protected front bearing, a modern composite valve carburettor and venturis in 6.5mm, 7.0mm and 8.0mm made of aluminium complete this new high competition engine.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd1 – Report

The season opening round of the Belgian SCT Cup was held at the RC@CZ club whose track is located within the full scale Zolder Circuit. A big track surrounded by pine trees the facility made for a perfect place to start the new season that also attracted a record entry of drivers. In the Pro2 class, Samuel Castel (TLR) took the opening qualifier with Géry Ledocq (Kyosho) coming out fastest in the second round while Nicolas Evens (TLR) TQ’d the third and final qualifier. Overall the pole position for the finals would be taken by Nicolas with Géry and Samuel lining up in second and third. The three drivers had quite a similar pace with Tom Pierard (TLR), Laurent Halluin (TeamC) and Philippe Hautecoeur (Team Associated) battling for the 4th spot.

Exotek XB2 CE alloy rear camber mount & rear hubs

New from Exotek come two aluminium option parts for the Xray XB2 series of 2WD buggies. First up is the rear alloy camber mount for the Carpet Edition kit. The part is machined from 7075 aluminium and special countersunk mounting holes insure that the camber angle does not change in hard tumbles. It also helps keep camber plate alignment the same in case the plate is taken off for cleaning or maintenance purposes. A direct fit on the buggy the camber mount is available in orange or black colour. Also new and made for all XB2 series buggies are heavy duty 7075 aluminium rear hubs. Extra durable for high-power applications the parts are polished, anodised in orange or black and they are machined a second time to insure precise bearing fit. The hubs are rounded out by set screw holes for optional M3 grub screws.

Cox Optima 2016 carbon fibre option parts

Coming from Cox and made for the Kyosho Optima 2016 vintage 4WD re-release buggy are several carbon fibre option parts. The range includes a 2mm radio plate, 2.5mm rear and 2mm front side plates, 3.0mm front and 2.5mm rear shock stays as well as a 2.5mm front suspension and 2mm rear belt cover plate. All parts are cut from high-quality carbon fibre, they are direct replacements for the stock items and not only add visual impact but also make for a lower overall weight and they do away with bending issues associated with the original alloy parts.

RC Mafia season opening race – Report

The RC Mafia club in Gadka Nowa, Poland recently hosted their season opening race which was run in several electric and nitro off-road categories. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class Marcin Malinski would come out successful in the A-main from Igor Goderski in second and Tomek Gadnicki in third.

Ielasi Tuned ITD.21-7CL Buggy & Sport on-road engines

Ielasi Tuned have introduced three new engines in the form of the ITD.21-7CL Buggy off-road and the .12 and .21 Sport on-road engines. Starting with the off-road engine, the ITD.21-7CL is a 7-port long-stroke engine with new carburettor and all-new 60mm cooling head as well as a 14mm crankshaft with red paste for improved mixture flow. The engine is available with standard steel or ceramic rear bearing. As for the .12 and .21 Sport on-road engines, both were developed with both the club racer and professional in mind. Pelle Culmsee doubles at Danish Nitro Offroad Nats Rd2

The second round of the Danish Nitro Offroad Nationals hosted by the Hillerod RC Racing club and as usual the weekend started off with Nitro Truggy and Electric Buggy racing on Saturday. In the Nitro Truggy class Peter Harder would grab the TQ in front of Jan D. Hansen and Steffen Culmsee. Mike Kjærgaard rounded out the top 4 after the qualifiers.

Dave Hemenway wins at RC Excitement season opener

RC Excitement of Fitchburg, Massachusetts recently held their Outdoor Season Opener race on their newly refurbished track. In the 1/8th E-Truggy class Daven Hemenway would grab the TQ after having some trouble with traffic in the opening qualifier. The main event then saw Dave profiting of some clashes behind him and from that moment on he never looked back. Behind Dave, Jim Edmonds came in second while Phil Morris rounded out the top 3 result.
