Serpent Cobra SRX8 buggy

SerpentSRX8-1

Following a number of teasers, Serpent have finally released their all new Cobra SRX8 1/8th scale buggy. Designed by Billy Easton, the focus was on performance, ease of use and durability. A very well specced kit, the major changes include new gear-differentials that have a larger case to allow for more oil inside and a built in pressure compensation system, resulting in a more consistent diff over longer runs. A new gear-mesh plate system allows for easy and secure engine (dis)assembly without worrying about gear mesh. For tuning, the front and rear lower wishbones allow inserts to be both mounted in the top and bottom for many possible flex options, using no inserts, moulded inserts, carbon inserts, or mixed of both inserts. Finally the new angled steering system offers optimal Ackermann settings as well as reduced bumpsteer.

Intech BR-6 optional new gear ratio

Intech have announced the release of an optional new gear ratio for the BR-6 nitro and electric buggies. An optional 40T crown gear with 12T pinion gear for the front and rear differentials and a 46T steel spur gear with 13T clutch bell for the centre differential give a final gear ratio of 11.79. All gears are machined from the rigid steel and lightened with milling and holes and come laser-engraved with the teeth numbers which allows for quick and easy identification. David Ronnefalk takes eBuggy at Neo 16

Running alongside Nitro Buggy at last weekend’s Neo race, the eBuggy class was also stacked with quality. Qualifying saw Ryan Lutz take the TQ spot ahead of Team Orion’s Ryan Cavalieri in 2nd and David Ronnefalk 3rd. The single 10-minute A-Main Event would be run on Monday afternoon. With the grid set and the tone sounding, it was Tekno’s Ryan Lutz who would lead the field around for lap #1. Cavalieri & Ronnefalk would work together and keep pace with Lutz. Ronnefalk was able to make it by Cavalieri in the first couple laps and then quickly caught up to Lutz. Ronnefalk would then make a pass for the lead a few laps later and then begin putting in fast laps to try an pull away from the field. Ronnefalk would go onto take the convincing win and the Neo16 1/8 Electric Buggy Championship! Cavalieri put in a great late race charge and would finish a close 2nd. Tekno’s Ryan Lutz would go onto round out the podium in 3rd.
