Bittydesign Force NB48.3 bodyshell

Bittydesign have introduced the Force design bodyshell for the Tekno NB48.3 nitro off-road buggy. Sporting the company’s distinctive Force design the body features a forward-biased cabin for improved aerodynamics while the rear area is characterised by a flap to allow for better rear end traction and optimised airflow towards the rear wing. A side scoop makes way for the throttle and brake linkage and the roof-top shark fin further improves aerodynamics. The body is made from genuine 1.0mm Lexan material and it will become available by mid-March.

Kyosho reveal full MP9 TKI4 information

Following a series of leaks and more or less unofficial information on the much-awaited MP9 TKI4 1/8th nitro off-road buggy, Kyosho have now officially introduced the successor of the long-running TKI3. Set for a release in April the buggy will feature 22 improvements and refinements such as reinforced lower A-arms that show optimised webbings to allow for the right amount of flex while being super tough at the same time. The updated arms will make shock setup easier and the front wishbones are also 2mm longer, bringing the car close to the maximum allowed width for improved cornering.

Motiv Low CG weight kit

Motiv have introduced their new Low Centre of Gravity weight kit for 2WD buggies, short course trucks and formula cars. The set includes brass plates that are designed to fit the same foot print as a shorty LiPo battery pack with the 0.5mm plate weighing in at 18.5 grams and the 1mm plate weighing in at 37 grams. The combination of both will bring thin LiPo shorty packs to approximately the weight of most 5000mAh shorty batteries on the market. The set can also be used to up the weight of a standard shorty in the desired battery location. The kit includes sticky back foam and ultra thin double sided tape to fit the weights to the battery in any vehicle.

Kaja Novotny dominates Czech XWS Rd5

Round five of the Czech Xray Winter Series was held in Kolin over the weekend. As usual the track was an all-carpet affair with removable jump sections to allow the running of both electric on-road and off-road classes. Xray’s Kaja Novotny would TQ the 2WD Buggy class even though he at first struggled with the somewhat low grip conditions created by the mandatory slick tyres. Kaja’s team mates Zdenek Miksovsky and Martin Korinek would round out the top 3 so far. In 4WD Kaja made a couple of mistakes in Q1 but he stroke back in the second and third qualifier to grab a second TQ this weekend. The top 3 was completed by Milan Mudra and Zdenek Miksovsky.

Vanessa Wende takes Wintercup Offroad Series title

The fourth and final round of the German Wintercup Offroad Series was hosted by the MCRT Aschaffenburg club over the weekend. In the 4WD Buggy class Sebastian Fenske would take the TQ only a tenth of a second in front of team mate Vanessa Wende. In the triple A-mains Vanessa was able to do even better by coming out successful in front of Sebastian. The win handed her the overall 4WD title from Sebastian with Thomas Henrich completing the top 3 overall.

More Kyosho MP9 TKI4 images leaked

As the release of the much awaited Kyosho MP9 TKI4 1/8th nitro off-road buggy gets closer, more images leaked in addition to a first body off image issued by Kyosho Europe. The successor of the highly successful TKI3 will feature a total of 22 updates and refinements including redesigned steering knuckles, longer and more stable lower A-ams, new aluminium rear hubs as well as an all-new bodyshell and rear wing with optional gurney flaps to name just a few. According to Kyosho the kit will hit the stores this March. Meanwhile you can find more images below.

KO Propo BSx2 One10 Grasper steering servo

KO Propo have introduced their all-new BSx2 One10 Grasper low-profile steering servo. Offering a new case design with complex upper case machining the servo also makes use of a heatsink middle section, hard-anodised aluminium gears, a brushless motor, dual ball bearings, and a black receiver lead with gold-plated contacts. The servo is usable with 6.0V to 7.2V input and it pulls up to 10.8kg-cm at a speed of 0.09s. Although the numbers don’t look too impressive KO Propo states that due to the design of the servo it feels much more powerful and speedy on the track, making the car literally grasping corners.

Jake Mayo wins at 2016 California State Champs

The 2016 California State Championships were held this past weekend at Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway with more than 230 entries and racers coming from multiple states including Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and all across the state of California. Typical for an U.S. race the event saw the running of numerous Modified and Stock categories and in the premier class of 2WD Modified it was young Jake Mayo that pretty much dominated the proceedings and he would grab the overall win from Ash Deering in second and Rudy Rico in third.
