Akio Sobue takes opening qualifier at PYC

Akio Sobue has headed the opening round of qualifying at PYC for the penultimate round of the series in Hong Kong. The infinity driver made his way to the top of the times after his team mate Marc Rheinard had started strongly. The German faded near the end and was eventually passed by Yokomo’s Nicholas Lee who took 2nd for the round. Jin Sawada would make it 3 IF14s in the top 4, with Serpent driver Naoki Akiyama completing the top 5 some 8 seconds back from the pace setter. Newly crowned champion Sobue said ‘Rd1 was OK but too much steering, I almost spin’, explaining further that due to the rule of needing to clean your tires with brake cleaner before applying the handout Sweep additive had meant there was a lot more traction at the beginning. Once his car had run some minutes it improved and his car was ‘easier to drive’

FX Engines K301 EC 3-port engine

FX Engines have introduced their new K301 EC engine, an upgraded variant of the K301. The European Champion K301 EC is based on the K301 engine and incorporates numerous improvements and refinements with focus on maximum bottom and top-end power. The 3-port engine features a ceramic main bearing and a DLC-coated, tungsten-balanced and silicone-filled crankshaft. The sleeve and piston set were specially selected and matched. The engine features 10-rib engine head and significant improvements were incorporated in the production and assembly processes, with new and even more precise quality inspection. All parts are individually measured and specially selected and matched to increase engine reliability, performance, and quality. Each engine includes a manufacturing certificate that records all important serial numbers and measurements so that, at any time, all details of the production – material batch, machine programs, responsible craftsperson, and production dates – can be traced back to the beginning.

Von Elling & Norman take NTCC titles

Last weekend saw the final round of the North Swedish Touring Championship NTCC. In the Touring Car class, Marcus von Elling took the win from Linus Hollstrom 2nd and Alexander Wagstedt 3rd. Marcus also snatched the TQ spot and also the overall championship in front of Alexander Wagstedt and Linus Hollstrom. In the Formula class, Marcus von Elling won in front of Jorgen Wahlberg and Simon Fredrikssen. The championship was won by youngster Kevin Norman who took three victories out of the six races. 2nd place went to Jorgen Wahlberg in front of Anders Wagstedt in 3rd.

Xray NT1 1/10th 200mm nitro touring car kit

Xray have introduced the new NT1, the latest incarnation of the company’s IFMAR World Championship winning 1/10th 200mm nitro touring car platform. The new NT1 received some subtle updates to further increase overall performance, make it even more versatile when adapting the car to various track conditions and ensure easier setup and maintenance. HB Racing D817T titanium turnbuckles

HB Racing have released three sets of titanium turnbuckles for the D817T 1/8th scale truggy. Coming in M4x94mm, M5x85mm and M5x95mm specification, all are machined from high-quality titanium material for a lower overall weight compared to standard steel turnbuckles while offering improved looks and greater corrosion resistance. Yokomo BD9 4.8mm titanium rod end balls

Yokomo have introduced titanium high-precision 4.8mm rod end balls for their BD9 touring car kit. Available in three variants, as S-size 11.5mm, M-size 13.0mm, as well as short neck 11.5mm, all are precision machined for a smooth surface and efferent suspension action. Also available is a 4.8mm kingpin screw with all items reducing overall weight while adding visual impact and corrosion resistance. The rod ends come in pairs and are available now.

Team Bomber YRX12 power pod stiffener plate

Japanese brand Team Bomber has released a carbon fibre stiffener plate for the rear power pod of the Yokomo YRX12 1/12th scale pan car. Machined from high-quality 2mm carbon fibre the plate is of an updated design compared to the standard kit item for improved overall stiffness, allowing to adapt the rear end to a variety of track conditions.

Coming from Nitrolux is their new Race Edition Off Road 25 percent nitro fuel. An evolution of the proven Energy formula, the Race Edition blend adds new oil formulas specially developed by the Modelix Racing R&D team. The result is a more efficient fuel for competition usage that provides increased power, better performance and engine stability, as well as a lower fuel consumption compared to the Energy formula. The fuel, that uses both synthetic and castor oils, is available in 5L jerrycans.
