Losi Night Crawler 2.0 RTR rock crawler

Losi have introduced the Night Crawler 2.0 ready-to-run rock crawler. Utilising an aluminium twin vertical plate chassis design the vehicle also features heavy duty front and rear worm-gear drives, a zero Ackermann steering, moulded 4-link suspension, 4″ adjustable aluminium shocks and a LiPo-ready crawler-programmed speed controller. Also included is a 35T Dynamite crawler motor and a high-torque steering servo. The set is rounded out by a full range Spektrum SR310 receiver, beadlock wheels with red chrome rings and grippy crawler tyres as well as rock lights and an LED light bar.

RCProf Challenge Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Hungarian RCProf Challenge was held at the RC Arena track in Budapest. In the Touring Car 13.5T Stock class Janos Birinyi took the TQ but in the opening A-main Barnabas Toth stroke back with a win after Janos made a mistake. A2 then brought a clean win for Janos, so the decision for the day’s win would fall in the third A-main and it was again Janos who came out successful to take overall victory from Barnabas Toth and Peter Miko.

STRC Ascender aluminium option parts

ST Racing Concepts have several new aluminium option parts for the Vaterra Ascender off-road truck available. First up are CNC-machined aluminium rear lockouts with oversized 5x11mm bearings. The parts replace the stock plastic nylon pieces with more precise parts, eliminating flex and enhancing durability with the included, larger 5x11mm bearings. The lockouts are available in scale black, gun metal, and natural silver anodising and they come in pairs.

Brett Kingsbury wins at ROAR Region 4 race

Sundancers Raceway in Port Saint Lucie, FL, recently hosted a ROAR Region 4 1/8th scale off-road race. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class Brett Kingsbury was the man to beat as he won two out of the three qualifiers to take the overall TQ and pole position for the A-main. Brett then went on to win the final as well to take the overall title.

Vision Racing Cougar KF rear camber brace

Vision Racing have introduced a 3mm carbon fibre rear camber brace for the Schumacher Cougar KF models and Cat K1 Aero. The brace gives four mounting positions in one mount, eliminating the need to change mounts to adjust the buggies’ chamber link lengths. The lengths provided are 33.5mm, 38mm, 42.5 and 47mm.

Rudy Rico takes double JBRL Electric Series titles

Tekno RC’s Rudy Rico has secured the overall win in the Expert 4WD Short Course and Electric 1/8 scale classes at the 2015 JBRL Series, defending his 2014 titles. This year the prestigious JBRL Electric Series travelled to eight California tracks over seven months and averaged over 200 entries per round. The TLR duo of David Jenson and Ryan Dunford would finish second and third overall in the Expert 4WD Short Course class while in 1/8th E-Buggy David Jenson (TLR) and Casper (TLR) would complete the overall top 3 result.

Tamar Schäfer wins at Swiss Off-road champs Rd5

The fifth and final round of the Swiss Electric Off-road National Championship saw Tamar Schäfer (Intech) walking away with the win in the 4WD Short Course class. Tamar would win the opening A-main but Intech teammate Tyas Wuillemin came out faster in A2 meaning the third leg would decide over the day’s win. A3 then again had Tamar grabbing the win to take the overall victory from runner-up Martin Weidmann (Team Durango) with Tyas Wuillemin rounding out the top 3 result.

2015/16 Slovakia Cup Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2015/16 Slovakia Cup was held at the Hudy Arena in Trencin. The race was held in several electric on-road and off-road classes and in Touring Modified it was pre-event favourite Martin Hudy who took the pole position on his home track. The fight for the 2 spot was on between David Nemcek and Zdenko Kunak with the better end for Zdenko while David placed his car on the third spot for the finals. As expected the A-mains then saw a clean sweep from Martin but behind him the race was on for the runner-up spot and this time David kept his cool while Zdenko ran into trouble. At the end David would grab the runner-up spot behind Martin, with Juraj Hudy rounding out the top 3 result. Oliver Havranek and Zdenko Kunak completed the top 5 result.
