JConcepts B5-series spring steel CVA set

JConcepts have introduced a new option part for the Team Associated B5 series of vehicles in the form of the spring steel CVA set with hex adaptors. The set is built for performance, durability and looks with the design being based around the HD 5mm axle diameter which is able to stand up to a rigorous demands of today’s racing. The bones have been machined of spring steel material for the ultimate in durability and performance and inserted with hardened steel pins on the drive ends. The aluminium pin barrels have a high tolerance fit and finish for smooth and quiet performance. The CVA kit fits the B5, B5M and B5M Factory Lite and it also includes light-weight, black anodised aluminium 12mm clamping style hex adaptors for a slide on fit to the HD axle. The advanced plating on the bones, axles and barrels also provide corrosion resistance and for more recognition, the JConcepts.net logo is etched onto each bone for identification and authenticity.

World Championship Track Focus

The 16th running of the IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championships takes place at the World famous Yatabe Arena with the Japanese venue’s second hosting of the bi-annual event sparking much debate and divide within the offroad racing circles. With the World’s best drivers having fought it out for the sport’s greatest prize on dirt since the championship was first held in 1985, 30-years on the week long event will be run without a bit of dirt in sight. After receiving a proposal from the Japanese hosts seeking to use an artificial surface, the sport’s governing body IFMAR accepted, allowing the Yatabe Arena to create the first astro turf World Championship track. With many purists opposed to allowing an Offroad World Championship to be decided on a ‘touring car track with jumps’, 7-time Offroad World Champion & legend of the sport Masami Hirosaka sees a place for both dirt and astro turf tracks in the sport.

Exotek AE 5th generation option parts

Exotek have new option parts for the Team Associated 5th generation 1/10th off-road buggies and trucks available in the form of titanium front axles for the SC5M as well as aluminium shock parts for the 12mm big bore shocks. Starting with the wheel axles, the “Flite titanium front axles for Team Associated’s latest short course truck are precision machined, almost as strong as steel and they weigh in at only 5 grams per pair, compared to the 9.7 grams of the standard steel shafts. The axles reduce rotational mass as well as unsprung weight and they also add some visual impact when the wheels are off.

Avid B5 alloy steering bellcranks & servo mounts

Avid have introduced two new aluminium option parts for the Team Associated 5th generation 1/10th off-road vehicles. First up is an aluminium steering bellcrank set. These aluminium bellcranks eliminate flex in the steering system for maximum steering feel with the set being usable for all B5 based vehicles such as the B5/B5M, T5M and SC5M. The parts come machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, they are black anodised and sport silver edge highlights and each package includes one left and one right bellcrank as well as two aluminium crush tubes for the steering rack bearings.

TKO B5M carbon fibre slipper disc set

TKO have introduced a new carbon fibre slipper disc set for the Team Associated B5M buggy and others using the same size, such as the Yokomo YZ-2. Made from carbon ultra poly material to provide consistency, smoothness and feel, the carbon material makes for rapid heat dissipation and thermal stability without glazing and hot spots. The pads are virtually maintenance free, they come in sets of two and weight in at 0.7g.

Micha Widmeier renews with Schumacher

Up and coming young German driver, Micha Widmaier, has re-signed with Schumacher Racing and CS Electronics. Micha is the current German junior champion in 2WD with his KF2. Just two weeks ago Micha raced a prototype of Schumachers new CAT K2 4WD buggy at the EOS in Nurburgring and won the B final against some world class drivers. Micha plans to race at most of the big races in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland next year, including EOS and Euros. Micha said:

I am very happy that I can drive for Schumacher and CS in 2016. I will give my best at the races.

Vaterra Twin Hammers DT 1.9 Rock Racer RTR

Horizon Hobby have announced the soon release of the Twin Hammers DT 1.9 Rock Racer RTR vehicle. Based off of the proven Twin Hammers the DT variant will feature an updated bodyshell and a LED light bar for running at night. The rugged 4WD chassis features long travel suspension components like the ones found on full-scale rock racers, it comes with multi-surface beadlock wheels and tyres as well as factory-installed waterproof electronics. Included in the set is also a genuine Spektrum DX2E 2.4GHz radio system, a 2000mAh LiPo battery pack and a suitable wall charger.

Intech BR-6 2.0 4mm lightweight aluminium chassis

Intech have a new lightweight aluminium chassis for the BR-6 2.0 and 2.0 Sport available. The 4mm thick chassis is made from 7075-T6 material and it sports excessive machining to reduce the overall weight while the design offers improved flex resistance. A hard-anodised finish for wear and a machined heatsink ribbing in the engine section round out the new main chassis plate.
