Lee Martin doubles at BRCA 1/10th Buggy final

The final round of the BRCA 1/10th Buggy National Championship was held at the Stotfold track this past weekend. With the 4WD Championship already being decided the 2WD title was still up for grabs. Yokomo’s Lee Martin was the man to beat as he won every qualifier and also all three final legs in the 2WD class, which was run on Saturday, eventually taking the 2WD title in the progress, and beating Team Associated’s Neil Cragg who ended the season on the runner-up spot. Yokomo’s Tom Cockerill would round out the top 3. In the 4WD class, run on Sunday, the title was already taken by Lee Martin but this did not stop the Yokomo driver from once again dominating the proceedings, as he took the day’s win from team mates Simon Moss in second and Tom Cockerill in third.

MIP 1/5th scale limiter strap set & header gasket

New from MIP and made for large scale off-road vehicles such as the Losi 5ive-T are a limiter strap set and a header gasket. Starting with the suspension limiter straps, the set offers scale looks, functionality, and adjustability. Their main purpose is to limit the overall extension of the shock as to prevent it from overextending and doing damage to the piston, eyelet, rod end, and shock retainer. There are also many secondary benefits of these straps including not bending the arm at the droop screw pivot point, keeping the arms and chassis in better condition, and the droop set correctly on both sides. Included in the set are four limiter straps, limiter strap buckles and strap mounts.

Berton snatches TQ from Baruffolo at Arena Race

Qualifying is over at the second edition of the Arena Outdoor race, and the day was as exciting as it can get with Berton and Baruffolo showing top notch skills on the beautiful Asti track. With the TLR driver taking Q1 and Q4 and Berton taking Q2 and Q3, it all went down to the second tie breaker to assign the TQ. It was eventually the reigning European B Champion to snatch the top spot from Marco with a 5 points advantage over the second throwout. Behind them, Stocco had some good but inconsistent qualifiers, ending the day with a DNF with a broken servo but still managing to keep third in the standings. Former 2-time European Champion Tortorici would close fourth overall, one point ahead of Valente who rounded up the top 5.

Bloomfield wins rained out HNMC Summer Series race

Bloomfield wins rained out HNMC Summer Series race

Round six of the HNMC Summer Series would be held at the impressive Herts facility that was used for the Euro B Championships in June. The end of August in the UK typically sees a few rain showers, and the forecast was for some rain in the afternoon this time, so everyone was at least hoping that could get qualifying completed before the rains came. Darren Bloomfield has been putting in plenty of track time lately, and with that he has got the settings of his car well tuned and is very comfortable in his driving. Using the the same chassis settings as he had at the recent UK National round, Darren was untouchable in qualifying posting times faster than he achieved at the National. He would TQ all 3 rounds on his way to some very impressive lap times. Behind Darren there was the usual Herts protagonists in Kevin Brunsden, Tony Truman and Ollie Currie who had also all been extremely quick at the National, and these guys were battling it out and would be 2nd, 3rd and 4th in qualifying. Sadly, the predicted rains came almost immediately as qualifying finished and while they tried to run the first final it quickly became clear that the rain was here to stay, and the meeting would have to be cancelled.
