Rivkin sweeps Arizona State Off-road Champs

The 30th Annual Arizona State Championships were held at SRS Raceway located in Phoenix. With high grip and a fast layout, the event challenged even the most seasoned racers. In 2WD Modified Buggy, Spencer Rivkin was hooked up all weekend, TQ-ing the class and scoring the overall win after taking A1 and A3 victories to clinch the title. In the Modified Truck class it was all Rivkin once again. The newly crowned IFMAR 2WD Buggy World Champion rocked to a TQ run during qualifying and proceeded to dominate in the A-mains by winning A1 and A2 easily.

Tyler Jones doubles at OHKY Rd2

Round two of the OHKY Off-road series took place at SRI Raceway in Kentucky. The round drew in 179 entries for the one day race with some of the best regional racers in attendance. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class Tyler Jones took a late overall TQ from JP Richards. In 2WD Modified Truck Tyler made a clean sweep by winning all three qualifying rounds to take the overall TQ with the only 16 lap run. In the Buggy A-main Tyler then led wire to wire putting the entire field at least one or more laps down. The second place went to Nick Richards with Dylan Gerard in third. In the Truck main the tone went off and Tyler checked out just like he did in 2WD Mod. The young man did have an issue towards the end as the rear camber block cracked around the ball stud and the left rear was rolling over bad through the corners but he dialed it back and still brought home the win from Josh McDonald and Jeff Sumner.

STRC B5M 3-gear aluminium motor plate

New from STRC comes the 3-gear aluminium motor plate for Team Associated fifth generation vehicles that use this specific gearbox setup. The CNC-machined motor plate features milled heat-sink fins to help dissipate heat from the motor and also elongated motor screw hole slots to allow for larger pinion gear to be installed without having to change out a spur gear, making it great for 17.5T stock racing. The motor plate is available in anodised blue, stealth black, gun metal and natural silver.

Adam Drake dominated 2015 JBRL Nitro Series

The JBRL Nitro Series recently completed its 9th season, visiting eight tracks this year. Mugen Seiki’s Adam Drake was the man to beat in the Nitro and Electric Pro classes as he made the triple by winning both the Pro Nitro Buggy and Pro Nitro Truggy as well as the 1/8th E-Buggy categories. Runner up in the Nitro Buggy class was Cody King (Kyosho), Steve Harris (Mugen) rounded out the top 3 result. In the Truggy class it was again Cody King who came in second while Aaron Gomez completed the podium result. Finally in the 1/8th E-Buggy class Adam was sidelined by Mugen teammate Steve Harris and Tekno RC driver Anthony Westergaard.

Exotek 22T Flite titanium front axles

Exotek have introduced the Flite titanium front axle set for the TLR 22T series racing truck. Precision machined, the axles weight in at only 3.6g per piece and they help to reduce the rotational mass as well as unsprung weight. The corrosion resistant titanium material is ideal for racing on damp track conditions and the axles are usable both on the original 22T and the newer 2.0 kits. Included is suitable inner mounting hardware.

Samix aluminium servo arm for Axial vehicles

Coming from Samix and made for Axial’s SCX10, XR10, AX10 and Exo off-road vehicles is a clamping design aluminium servo arm. Made from aluminium and coming in a 23T and 25T spline variant the arm offers 16mm and 20mm spaced, threaded mounting holes while the clamping design makes for a secure mounting even in high-stress applications. They come in four different colours and sport etched size markings for easy identification.

New from Sweep Racing come the Square Armor 2.4″ 1/10th scale buggy tyres. Designed to fit the company’s 61mm rims with 2.4″ inserts the tyres are specially developed for racing on dusty outdoor conditions where maximum traction is needed. They come in ultra soft, extra soft, soft and medium compound as tyres only or pre-glued on 12mm hex rims.

Intech ER-12M 2.0 1/10th 2WD buggy kit

Following a first teaser image Intech have now released more photos and information on the forthcoming ER-12M 2.0 mid-motor buggy kit. The follow-up model of the ER-12 is of a simple to work on design and based on a black anodised aluminium chassis with alloy side rails that also act as battery mounts for square, saddle or shorty pack batteries. The battery mount is made of two carbon fibre strips and alloy thumbs nuts. In the front of the very narrow chassis sit aluminium braces for the alloy upper steering plate and a lightweight composite frame acts as the steering servo mount . Part of the package is also a 4-gear mid motor gearbox with ball differential and also included are standard bore yet large volume alloy shock absorbers. The kit is set for a release early in December.
