Serpent UK have announced the release of an aluminium steering lever set for the SDX4 and SDX4 Evo kits. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming black anodised and with machined silver edge details the parts will replace the standard composite servo saver lever and composite steering lever for a rigid assembly that is also less prone to flex when running in high-grip track conditions. The parts are a direct fit.

The MRC Longwy club hosted round 1 of the popular MRC Longwy Winter Series this past weekend. The race attracted both national and international drivers and in the Touring Modified class it was Thimo Weissbauer who took the TQ and win in front of his Awesomatix teammates Tim Wahl in 2nd and Lucas Urbain 3rd. Loic Jasmin and Remi Callens came in 4th and 5th respectively.

The second round of the 2018/19 BRCA 1/12th nationals took place in Birtley last weekend. The event saw a continuation of the increased entry from the first round with 70 drivers attending the event. The Birtley club laid a fast and flowing track which developed a high grip level throughout the weekend requiring a fast and consistent drive to achieve a good result. On Saturday racers competed in the 13.5 Blinky Stock championship with the field split into F1, F2 and F3 grades. In the F1 class current European Stock champion Ollie Payne put his car on pole ahead of defending British Champion David Spashett and a fast charging Adam Catchpole in 3rd. Ollie was to take a tone to tone win gaining a small advantage early on and maintaining this throughout the race. The front two cars had a relentless pace and lapped the whole field. Adam Catchpole unfortunately caught a track marker early on and had to retire his car allowing Mark Stiles to secure 3rd place from 5th on the grid.

Mugen have introduced two new option parts for the MBX8 line of buggies in the form of the -3 front upright Ackermann plates and the +15mm rear wing mount. Starting with the Ackermann plates, the items move the steering rod ball stud location 3mm towards the outside compared to the kit standard arms, which results in improved initial steering response and improved stability coming out of corners. The parts are machined from high-quality carbon fibre.
Coming from Contact Tyres are new BRCA 1/12 Oval National control tyre donuts in four hardnesses. Developed with the help of Stock Oval World Champion Ben Harding the tyres are meant to offer the best tyre balance and traction available and they are available in colour-coded white 32 shore, yellow 35 shore, red 37 shore and blue 40 shore hardness. The unmounted tyres measure 26mm x 49mm in width and diameter respectively with an internal diameter of 35mm.
Pro-Line have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming series of licensed Hoosier dirt oval racing tyres. Available are three new treads for Dirt Oval SC Mod and Dirt Oval Sprint Car racing all of which feature a scaled-down original tread design for looks and great performance. The tyres are understood to hit stores soon.

Pilot RC Products have announced their newest product in the form of the carbon fibre ball stud washer set. It features 3mm inner diameter and 7.8mm outer diameter fully carbon fibre washers that come 0.5mm, 1.0mm and 2.0mm thicknesses. The set includes ten each, and they are an essential upgrade over their plastic and aluminium counterparts because they won’t tweak or flatten under pressure while remaining the lightest possible mass for the application, not to mention the exposed carbon finish for that true factory look. The washers are perfect for precise adjustment of the height of ball studs when adjusting roll centres, wheelbase, shimming suspension components and much more. Coming for Kyosho’s new Lazer ZX7 1/10th scale 4WD buggy is a lightweight body shell. Moulded to match the kit’s standard body the 0.6mm thin variant is a lot lighter for a lower overall weight and a lower overall centre of gravity. Using the body comes in handy in stock racing classes and when running in high-bite track conditions where the lower CG can lead to faster and more consistent cornering. Included with the body come pre-cut window masks.
