Yeah Racing CC01 aluminium motor mount

Yeah Racing have announced the release of an aluminium motor mount for the Tamiya CC01 kit. The motor holder is machined from high-quality aluminium and it comes blue anodised for wear and looks. Using the mount will provide increased overall stiffness and heat dissipation compared to the standard plastic part.

Bona & Sartel successful at Coupe des Champions race

The 2018 Coupe des Champions race was held in Louvres, France this past weekend. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was young Clément Boda (Team Associated) with the win in the A-mains as top qualifier, Mathieu Brière (Xray) had to settle for 2nd. Xray’s Jean-Pierrick Sartel came in 3rd to round out the podium. Over in the 4WD Mod Buggy class it was Jean-Pierrick Sartel with the TQ for Xray and he would also bring home the win in the A-main from Mathieu Brière (Xray) in 2nd. Team Associated’s Clément Boda rounded out the top 3 podium results.

Yugo Nagashima takes Australian TC Mod title

The 2018 Australian Electric On-road National Championships were held at England Park Raceway in Brisbane this past weekend. In the Touring Modified class it was Yokomo’s Simon Nicholson with the TQ, however he had bad luck in A1 where he broke his car and also had to use a broken car in A2 so it was Destiny’s Yugo Nagashima with the overall win from Yokomo’s Nicholas Lee in 2nd. Team Associated’s Christopher Sturdy snatched the final podium spot as Simon Nicholson was able to recover the 4th overall courtesy of his win in the third and final A-main.

T-Works MP9 & MBX8/7 DLC-coated shock shafts

Coming from T-Works are new DLC-coated shock shafts for the Kyosho MP9 and Mugen MBX8/7 series buggies. The shafts are made from high-quality steel and are surface-coated using the a dark-coloured DLC coat, a material traditionally used to finish crankshafts on competition nitro engines. The hard-wearing coat will make for a slick and wear-resistant surface that ensures smooth and durable shock function. The shafts come as separate front and rear sets and they are available as MP9 TKI3/4 and MP9 Evo compatible items and also for the MBX8 and 7/R buggies.

AWS 2019 Rd2 – Report

The second round of the AWS 2019 was held at North West Nitro in the UK this past weekend with 55 drivers in attendance. The day kicked off with a round of practice followed by three rounds of qualifying in the same order as the practice round. With the track starting to dry out and the lap time becoming faster and more consistent, the fight for the top spots in the meeting was really good. With three rounds of qualifying completed just after 1pm it was Jon Howells with the TQ from Wez Jolly while the third place was taken by Peter Jones. Buggy was different as after three rounds of qualifying it was Lloyd Pitt with the TQ from local driver Chris Sharpe-Simkiss and John Isherwood.

Project Godspeed Pace12 1/12th pan car – Coming soon

Project Godspeed have released first images of their forthcoming Pace12 1/12th scale pan car kit. Based off of a carbon fibre tub chassis the car features a fully adjustable front end with lower carbon fibre and upper composite A-arms, a floating servo mount, a big bore centre shock absorber and rear tub-style side dampers. The minimalistic power pod incorporates a quick tune ride height feature and the prototype car also features a spool rear axle as it is en vogue now when running on high to very high bite surfaces. Mugen MTC1 performance conversion kit

After a year of testing and racing, Mugen Seiki has released first information about their new performance conversion kit for the MTCC1 electric touring car. All of the new parts were used at the European Reedy Race of Champions, where all three prototype MTC1 ended up in the top 10 of the modified class. The prototype MTC1 was able to log some of the fastest lap times of the entire event, highlighting the capabilities of the new parts. Testing with the prototype MTC1 on asphalt has also shown great results. Most testing was been done by pro drivers, but we also did testing with hobby customers and the testing displayed great results for drivers of all levels.

4wd goes to A3 as rivals can’t find way passed Coelho

Bruno Coelho has resisted enormous pressure to take 4wd A2 in Poland. Seeming to lack pace compared to those in pursuit, drivers lined up to take a shot at the leader but in the end the Xray driver held on for the win in a final that was enormously enjoyable to watch. Michal Orlowski finished 2nd, having dropped to 3rd after a failed passing attempt, with Joona Haatanen in the mix finishing 3rd. Jorn Neumann, who made also made a pass on Coelho only to roll over took 4th, with Daniel Kobbevik completing the train of drivers vying for the win ending up in 5th. A relived looking Coelho said ‘I’m not used to that, normally I’m first but not used to having so many people behind me and I don’t like the sensation’ he joked, ‘It was a great final, I tried to defend myself from the Schumacher guys that were very fast behind me. Everything ran very good and I try to do the same the next final.’
