Orlowski takes opening 2WD qualifying

Michal Orlowski has TQ’d the opening round of 2WD qualifying at the Euro Offroad Series in Slovakia this morning. The Schumacher driver claimed the first of the four scheduled qualifiers at the Hudy Racing Arena from Team Associated’s Carson Wernimont with Yokomo’s Marc Rheinard completing the Top 3. Having set the pace in yesterday’s seeding practice champion Lee Martin would post the fourth fastest time.

Matsukura sends out message in 4WD practice

Naoto Matsukura has topped 4WD practice at the season finale of the Euro Offroad Series in Slovakia. Having opened Season #4 of the EOS in Poland with a double win for Yokomo but then splitting with the team, the series returning Japanese driver said his blistering pace in the second of the timed practice was a message to his rivals that he and his Kyosho team are a force to be reckoned with in this world championship year. Although free practice pace setter and last year’s Hudy Racing Arena round winner Martin Bayer had problems in TP2, Matsukura would end Day 1 of the event an impressive one and a half second’s faster than the Xray driver who in turn was 1.1 seconds faster than Schumacher’s 3rd placed Michal Orlowski. 3-seconds off Lee Martin would be the fastest Yokomo with the fourth fastest time.

Bayer tops timed 2WD practice at EOS finale

Martin Bayer has topped timed practice for 2WD at the EOS season final with last year’s Hudy Racing Arena winner setting the fastest 3-consecutive laps from Yokomo’s Lee Martin. Third fastest in free practice, the Xray driver improved by over a second to put himself top seed for qualifying with the morning’s pace setter Martin just 0.021 off. Behind them, Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski would complete the Top 3 ahead of the Associated of former Top Qualifier Carson Wernimont. For former champion Joern Neumann the two sessions would see the Serpent driver end up only 13th fastest two positions behind US star Ryan Cavalieri.

Martin sets early practice at EOS

Newly crowned Euro Offroad Series 2WD Champion Lee Martin has set the early pace at season finale at the Hudy Racing Arena. With the first official day of the event getting underway with three rounds of free practice, Martin’s Yokomo topped the times from the Kyosho of former team-mate & champion Naoto Matsukura. Winner of the Slovakian round last year, when the race was the third on the four round calendar, Team Xray’s Martin Bayer would post the third fastest 3-consecutive lap time.

Paparegas wins Northern Greece Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of the Northern Greek Buggy Championship was held at the Serres Hobbytech track on a new, technical layout with many jumps. Tasos Paparegas took the pole position and he also scored the fastest lap of the race but he was denied the win because of a battery failure. Instead his brother John took the winning honours from Perogianakis with Margaritis rounding out the podium in 3rd.

Wicaksono wins Jakarta Regional Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of Jakarta Regional Buggy Championship was held at the Jati Bening Track in Jakarta. The track was muddy and bumpy at race day because of overnight rain, making for some tough time for the drivers. Adrian Sutanto took the TQ after the qualifiers but it was Adrian Wicaksono who came out successful in the final in front of Jason Nugroho who lead the race at some point but he lost the lead after he flipped his buggy. John Agus rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Ressar & Lainemäe win at Estonian Buggy Nats Rd1

The first round of the Estonian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Tallinn Festival Grounds in Tallinn. The annual grass race was run in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th E-Buggy and in the Nitro class it was Rainer Ressar who took the win from Hendrik Lainemäe in 2nd and Kuldar Ilus in 3rd.
