Wernimont cracks carpet surface at EOS

American talent Carson Wernimont has made a break through in terms of racing on European style indoor tracks by claiming an impressive TQ run double at the Euro Offroad Series in Poland.  Having shown strongly in practice yesterday for what is only his second time to race on carpet, he finally put his Schumacher at the top the time sheets in Q4 going on to back that up in Q5 with a second TQ run.  The result puts 17-year-old old in contention alongside defending Champion Naoto Matsukura and Lee Martin for the overall 2WD TQ going into the sixth & final qualifier at the EOS #4 season opener.

Martin tops 2WD Q3 at EOS

Lee Martin topped the third round of 2WD qualifying at the Euro Offroad Series in Poland.  With Yokomo team-mate Naoto Matusukra setting the pace in the opening two qualifiers at the Poznan event, a mistake by the defending champion allowed Martin to go top of the timing screens to take take the round by one & a half seconds from Team Durango’s Joern Neumann.  After struggling in Q2, Schumacher’s Carson Wernimont completed the Top 3 while further mistakes from Matsukura would see him end up 14th fastest.

Matsukura sets 4WD pace at EOS Poznan

Naoto Matsukura made it a good first day for Yokomo at the opening round of the Euro Offroad Series in Poznan, Poland, as he topped 4WD practice with team-mate Lee Martin having set the pace in 2WD earlier in the day.  The Japanese driver, who TQ’d the finale of last season’s EOS, was distinctly quicker than his rival over 3-consecutive laps with Team Xray’s Martin Wollanka 1.4-second off with the second fastest time.  With only 4/10ths of a second covering the next five drivers, defending champion Joern Neumann completed the Top 3 for the two timed practice rounds that will be used to seed the heats for 4WD qualifying which takes place at ‘Hobby’ on Sunday.

JConcepts introduce the Finnisher bodyshell specially designed for the TLR 22 2.0 2WD buggy in mid motor configuration. Development with the help of Ryan Maifield, the Finnisher for the 22 is a completely tightened design, slimming the overall look of the vehicle. The body sports a smoother high-speed transition with increased flow past the side-pods that lends itself perfect to high-speed circuits. A single angle starting near the steering assembly ending at the widest point in the middle of the chassis adds driving consistency and improved “at-speed” handling. As track conditions have advanced through additives, treatments and maintenance, the ultimate aero package flows through the turns, produces traction and jumps with consistency. Included with the body come two 6.5″ wide Hi-Clearance wings.

Martin tops 2WD practice at EOS season opener

Lee Martin got the new season of the Euro Offroad Series underway in the best way possible way as he topped 2WD practice in Poznan, Poland.  The Yokomo driver headed a 1-2 for the Japanese manufacturer with defending champion Naoto Matusukura posting the second fastest time over 3-consecutive laps.  Winner of last year’s ‘Hobby’ hosted event Hupo Honigl took his Team C to the third fastest time with an impressive performance from Schumacher’s of US driver Carson Wernimont securing him fourth in the reseeding for tomorrow’s 2WD qualifying.  Having TQ’d here 12-months ago it was a tough practice for Wernimont’s team-mate Tom Cockerill, the English driver only able for 11th fastest.

New from Muchmore come 1/10th shock absorber O-rings in three hardnesses. Developed with the help of 3-times World Champion Marc Rheinard the O-rings are available in 40 shore, 50 shore and 60 shore hardness that help to fine-tune the shocks to various track conditions. The harder 50 and 60 shore rings are ideal for carpet tracks while the softer 40 shore rings are best used in low-grip and low temperature conditions. A special silicone material makes the rings much less prone to swelling under the influence of silicone shock oil, they come in sets of 8 rings and are usable for many 1/10th on-road and off-road kits.
