Round 6 of the JBRL Nitro Series was held at Revelation Raceway in Ontario, CA. Once again the series attracted a good amount of local talent and internationally experienced factory drivers. The event saw TLR’s Adam Drake walking away with the win in the 1/8th Expert Buggy class while Cody King (Kyosho) and Cody Smith (TLR) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

New from Schelle Racing Innovations comes a carbon fibre battery strap for the mid-motor B5M buggy. The innovative design allows racers to remove the front battery foams, shedding additional weight and opening up the chassis for more ESC placement options while holding the cells secure. The second design feature is the narrow rear tongue which allows chassis flex through the entire range of motion without contacting the rear chassis brace. The brace also reduces the weight of the battery mount from 14g to 7g while stainless steel screws and aluminium locknuts act as an adjustable battery stop.

The 1st round of the prestigious Silverstone Winter Series attracted 92 entries in the premier 2WD buggy class, and it was new Schumacher driver Dave Poulter who unexpectedly set TQ. Dave has shot up the rankings since he joined the team, and he was joined at the front of the grid by team mates Simon Moss and Nathan Waters with their Cougar KFs.

The 2015 edition of the DHI Cup will be held from the 9th to 11th of January in Odense. As in previous years there will also be a 1/10th electric buggy race run alongside the traditional touring car event which in 2015 will see Touring Car Modified and Super Stock classes with the latter using “blinky” speedos and LRP 13.5T motors. Tyres for the touring cars will be LRP CPX which are provided by event partner LRP as are the 13.5T X20 brushless motor for the Super Stock class. GRP’s 1/10th buggy tyres are specially designed for the use on carpet and astroturf tracks and they come as Buldog 2WD front, Conic 4WD front and 2WD/4WD rear tyre. Available in a hard “C” and medium “B” compound, with the latter being meant to be comparable to Schumacher’s yellow rubber, the tyres offer a high moulding quality and true running. Along with the tyres comes a line of water-cut foam inserts including standard-size medium and hard foams and an over-size “tubby” medium hard offering.

Round 1 of the HNMC kicked off this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Elliott Boots took the TQ but the 20 minute final had Jon Hazlewood (Agama) taking the win from Jack Embling (Mugen) who was able to held off Elliott Boots (Kyosho) for the runner-up spot. In 1/8th E-Buggy Simon Reeves came out successful in front of Mugen team mates Richard Cousins and Ian Barnard while Philip Michael took the win in the dying Truggy class. The next round of the series will be held on October 26th.
