Swedish National Series Rd2 - Report

Round 2 of the Swedish National 1/10th Buggy Series was held at the Skarpnäck astroturf track just outside of Stockholm. The 2WD class was run on Saturday and just in time for the practice heats rain started to fall. The organisers decided to postpone the start and thus only two 7-minute heats of practice would be held on a still wet track. After the four qualifiers local driver Niclas Mansson (Team Associated) took the TQ from young Malin Karlsen (Xray). In the triple A-mains Niclas would win A1 and A2 to grab the overall win early while Malin took the win in A3 to snatch the runner-up spot. Wilhelm Skjoldebrand (Team Associated) rounded out the top 3 result.

Pro-Line LockDown 1/5th scale tyre

New from Pro-Line comes the LockDown XTR tyre for large scale models such as the Losi 5ive-T. Just like the 1/8th buggy race tyre, the LockDown has a more open tread pattern than the Blockade making it perfect for loose conditions. The tyre also features connected side tread technology that reduces the edginess of the truck to prevent catching a rut and flipping. The inside contains detailed webbing that strengthens the tire carcass and prevents excessive tire expansion. The tyre is moulded from durable XTR rubber and it works with HPI 5T rear and Losi 5ive-T front or rear foams.

Reedy Outdoor Off-Road Champs – Announcement

The Reedy Outdoor Off-Road Championships will be held from the 20th to 22nd of November at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California. Featuring a watered track surface, this event brings back major off-road racing as it began with roost and pin tires. Coming in the wide Revolution2 design the gears offer a high durability when using low-turn modified motors while offering exceptional efficiency for stock spec classes too. All gears feature machined venting and weight reducing holes to minimise heat build-up when running a soft slipper setting and they come with engraved size markings for easy identification. The gears are available as stock racing 72T and 78T variant and as modified racing 83T and 87T gears.

Vasiliadis wins at Greek Xray Off-road Challenge Rd1

The opening round of the Greek Xray Off-road Challenge was held at the Fanatix racing track. The schedule was pretty unusual for a nitro race with four qualifier and triple mains and at the end it was Geogre Vasiliadis (Xray) who took the win from George Abdel (Xray) and Dokos Panos (Xray) in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Malin Karlsen teams up with JConcepts

JConcepts has announced that Malin Karlsen has joined their world-wide race team. Malin, a Norway native who just celebrated her 10th birthday, specializes in 1/10th and 1/8th off-road but really enjoys the fast paced circuits of astro-Turf and carpet. The recent winner of the 2015 Swedish 1/10 4WD National Series has already received high praise and accolades in Sweden where she routinely takes the top step on the podium in her favorite racing class. While attending the 1/8th European Championships in Sacile, Italy, Malin received an award from EFRA acknowledging achievement. JConcepts looks forward to working with Malin and father/mechanic Bent toward future racing goals while representing a host of proud sponsors. Malin and Bent state:

Revolution Design Racing Products sign Kim Einert

Revolution Design Racing Products have announced the signing of Germany’s Kim Einert to their factory team. The 18-years old girl is a steady performer both nationally and internationally and she will be attending various 1/8th Nitro Buggy, 1/8th E-Buggy and 1/10th Buggy races this year using RDRP tools and accessories to prepare her rides.
