Kyosho re-release the Tomahawk

Kyosho re-release the Tomahawk

Kyosho is set to re-release one of their “holy grails” in the form of the 1980’s Tomahawk 2WD buggy. Following the original Scorpion and the re-release of the legendary Beetle, Kyosho introduces the third release in the retro line, the Tomahawk. The buggy, as it was back then, is an evolution of the Scorpion design that includes subtle enhancements to increase its off-road performance. Not being an exact replica the 2015 kit will feature several refinements to make adapt it to modern running gear. It will feature the unique double deck design, though made using tough 6061 alloy, it will come with slightly larger red anodised aluminium shocks with improved ride height adjustment clamps as well as an upgraded gearbox with gear differential. The body is made from the exact same mould that was used to make the original body all those years ago. Also part of the package are stylish brushed-aluminium looking wheels with black insets as well as soft, imprinted tyres. The kit will become available in June.

Jason Nugroho wins WillSon Track Grand Opening race

Jason Nugroho wins WillSon Track Grand Opening race

The Grand Opening WillSon Track Championship was held at the WillSon track in Denpasar, Bali. The track was designed and built by same track maker as the Cnetic track in Surabaya and thus it offers a fun and challenging layout. Racers from Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Medan attended the race with the race format seeing four rounds of 7 minute qualifiers followed by bump-up finals. After the qualifiers Jason Nugroho took the TQ and he started from pole position into the semifinals where he only finished in 3rd place following some issues with traffic. Starting from 3rd into the main final Jason had some more issues with traffic but around the 50 minute mark he was able to take the lead and never looked back to take the win in front of John Agus and Andre Irawan who came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
