Host of the 2016 ROAR Nationals, Valkaria RC Raceway, is a staple in the Florida on-road racing community and this past weekend they hosted round 1 of the 2018/2019 FSEARA Asphalt Series. With 89 entries on hand, racing was fast and fierce. In the Pro Mod class veteran racer Dave Vera took the win, from Austin Wolf in 2nd and Paul Wynn in 3rd.

Exotek have released a set of mini identification collars for hex wrenches such as the ones from Hudy, Protek or Team Associated. These collars help to quickly locate the needed size and they are designed for the most popular sizes including 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm metric wrenches. They include 2mm holding set screws and work with all 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm wrench shafts of 3mm diameter and the 3.0mm shafts of 3.5mm diameter.
The Mach-One astro turf track in Helmond, The Netherlands played host to a round of the NRW Cup this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Carsten Keller took the overall TQ while in the Electric Buggy class it was Jarno Pijpers who was in 1st place after the qualifiers. Following the semifinal it was Jarno with the pole position for the Nitro A-main and right from the start he was able to build a gap on Carsten who had bad luck in his semifinal. Ultimately Jarno Pijpers (SWorkz) was able to bring home the win from Carsten Keller (Mugen) in 2nd and Collin Meijer (Serpent) in 3rd. The Electric class had Jarno Pijpers (SWorkz) taking another pole position with Sander van Genechten (Xray) on the 2 spot on the grid. After the start Jarno and Sander would pull away from the rest off the field. Sander would follow Jarno for a few minutes, but Sander made a mistake and Jarno would open a gap to take the win from Sander in 2nd and Tim Donk (Team C) on the 3 spot.

The flat design allows the wire to be neatly installed in nearly every car, buggy or truck, with the high-quality connectors ensuring a reliable motor/ESC connection. Following a couple of teaser images Protoform have fully unveiled their all-new D9 body shell for 190mm touring cars. After much success with the Type-S, drivers requested a less-aggressive body handling feel in specific conditions where traction roll was being combated, or in super low grip when utmost rear traction was needed. Developed through extensive testing, the D9 features smooth, easy-to-drive handling characteristics, helping to achieve maximum lap times consistency over a run. In addition, added ridges along the front fenders, door panels, a-pillars and trunk bed provide rigidity even in thinner materials. The critical tuning aid of body positioning is once again made easier with PF’s mounting marks inside the front wheel arches. Positions for 0, +2mm, +4mm and +6mm are scribed in for convenience. Included with every D9 are the all-new rear wing mounts with top “button” and bottom “nut”. The D9 is Global Body Spec compliant and fully EFRA (#4062) & ROAR approved. The body comes made of high-quality, super-durable polycarbonate, it is available in both lightweight and Pro-lite weight versions and includes a decal sheet, window masks, overspray film and wing mounting hardware.
Leadfinger Racing have introduced their Strife body shell for the Tekno RC ET410 1/10th 4WD truck. The design idea comes from it’s much larger brother, the ET48 Strife body. To see if the idea would work, Leadfinger started by shortening the cab and rear truck bed, then narrowing the entire original mould to better suited the smaller ET410. The final step was to reverse or flip the front mounting posts. This gave LFR the room needed to install the front clips and clear the front cowling, making it a drop fit. The body comes clear and including window masks and sticker sheet.

Last weekend saw the grand season finale of the 2018 Pro Stock Series 2018 with this year’s host being the WMC Wiesbaden club in Germany. The Pro Stock Series is a national racing series in Germany for 1/10th and 1/8th scale nitro cars run with mandatory stock engines from Novarossi and Picco as well as bodies from BrilliantRC. Since this year there is also an 1/8 electric class which enjoys growing popularity. The Pro Stock Series celebrates its current form of 10-years of existence and offers the opportunity to compete with cost efficient and durable material. For the finale the drivers took the points from their regional races to the nation-wide finale. The weather forecast for the weekend was perfect. In the morning it was still cold in the clear night sky, but the temperature quickly climbed to double digits. No cloud harmed the racing action during Saturday’s free practice that was followed by timed practice rounds and the first of four heats. On Sunday morning racing went on and the well-organised club made sure that three more heats could be done until lunch break.
