Thornhill Racing Circuit hosts ROAR Offroad Fuel Nats

The 2014 ROAR 1/8 Offroad Fuel Nationals will be held on the weekend of the 22nd of June at the Thornhill Racing Circuit. Deep in the heart of Texas, the best that ROAR has to offer will descend onto a track designed and built by world-renowned Joey “The Dirt” Christensen to contest who will be the next U.S. national champions. Joey will also be hosting the nationals warm-up race, billed as “The Dirt Lonestar Nitro Challenge” which will be held on May 15th to 18th. Registration for the nationals is scheduled to open on ROAR’s website on March 21st, 2014. More information can be found here.

XRD EFRA exhausts & heavy-duty silicone gasket

XRD have several new 2014 EFRA-legal exhaust systems and new heavy-duty silicone manifold gaskets available. Starting with the exhausts, available now are the 2676 200mm Touring, 2068 1/8th On-Road and GT as well as the 2058 and 2058 Evo 1/8th Buggy exhaust. All come including a suitable manifold, mounting springs and silicone gasket for a drop fit. Also new are special silicone pipe and manifold gaskets made from a very durable silicone that withstands temperatures of up to 330°C without any problems. The gaskets fit a wide range of exhausts and they are available now.

Barry Baker wins at JBRL Electric Series Rd1

Round 1 of the 2014 JBRL Electric Series visited IERC Raceway in San Bernardino, California and was greeted by a record 400+ entries. More popular than ever, the JBRL Series includes a variety of indoor and outdoor tracks across Southern California, with participation from some of the top factory drivers in the region. In 1/8 E-Buggy Reedy’s Barry Baker was pretty much the dominating factor. Starting from the pole position, Barry led wire to wire for the win in the 10-minute main event to take maximum points and another cool plaque. And in what many consider to be the premier off-road class in the series and in the U.S. as a whole, 2WD Modified, Barry Baker came back from a poor start that saw him fall as low as ninth to take the win with his Reedy-powered buggy.

RB introduce their new Energy line of hardcase LiPo battery packs. Available in several configurations including a 4S 7000mAh 75C and 4S 6200mAh 70C “1/8th” pack, a 2S 7000mAh 75C and 2S 5200mAh 45C standard length straight pack, a 2S 5300mAh 75C saddle pack as well as a 2S 3000mAh 40C pack which is ideal for RTR cars and starter boxes, all batteries come in a matte black protective hardcase with chrome RB sticker. All batteries, except the ones with bullet-type tube connectors, are pre-wired with high-current Deans T-type connectors.

Centro B5/B5M brass & aluminium front bulkheads

CML Distribution introduce brass and aluminium front bulkheads for Team Associated’s B5 and B5M buggies. The front A-arm mounts are of a 25°/30° design and come as 37g brass or 13g aluminium version to alter the weight distribution of the buggy by simply using the heavier brass or lighter aluminium part. Included in the sets are delrin bushings and mounting hardware. Also new are brass, aluminium or delrin front bulkhead braces that weight 24g, 8g and 4g respectively. The parts can be used in addition to the aforementioned parts or with the standard composite bulkhead.

MIP Bypass1 12mm Team Tuned kits

MIP have two new Bypass1 Team Tuned kits for TLR and Kyosho 12mm big bore shock absorbers available. Included in the kits are all-new pistons that feature a new design that provides much more initial pack and overall flow than its predecessor. The pack and flow equates to a car that packs like a normal piston but recovers much quicker and flows more efficiently than previously experienced. Available for Team Losi Racing and Kyosho 12mm shocks the kits include #3/blue, #4/matte and #5/brown valves along four Team Tuned pistons, washers and other small parts.

Vectorworks TLR 22-4 carbon fibre options

Vectorworks have new carbon fibre option parts for Team Losi Racing’s 22-4 buggy available in the form of a front shock tower and battery mounts. Starting with the shock tower, the part is made from 4mm press-cured carbon fibre to maximise strength. Being a direct replacement no optional parts are needed to fit the tower to the front bulkhead. Incorporated into the design is a front body mount for standard-size body clips.
