AKA Catapult & Typo 1/8th buggy tyres

Available very soon from AKA are the new Catapult and Typo 1/8th buggy tyres. Starting with the Catapult, the tyre that helped David Ronnefalk to win at the 2014 Dirt Nitro Challenge is designed to offer a good balance of tread life and traction on dusty, abrasive tracks. The larger lugs keep wear at bay while the “C” shaped treads dig through the dust to find grip. The tyre is available in AKA’s super soft, soft, and medium compounds.

Reds Racing R7 Evoke buggy engine

Reds Racing introduce their latest high-performance .21 off-road engine in the form of the R7 Evoke. Limited to 300 pieces worldwide the engine is designed with improved fuel efficiency, performance and reliability in mind and it is specially aimed at the use on low-bite or short circuits where the special torque curve of the engine can give an advantage. Featuring a 7-port liner with exhaust port boosters the engine also comes with a silicone-filled, balanced and tuned crankshaft, new front bearing, rear ceramic bearing, a RDC hard-coated back plate and a long needle carburettor. The engine is hand-built by Mario Rossi and leaves the engine inspected and compression checked.

Hudy self-locking aluminium M3 nuts

Made not only for Xray cars but many other chassis and applications are these anodised M3 aluminium nuts from Hudy. They are available in blue, black and orange colour, feature a nylon insert to prevent them from becoming loose during use and the nuts come in sets of 10.

Xray XB4 aluminium servo mounts

Designed for both the XB4 4WD and XB4 2WD buggy are these servo mounting brackets from Xray. They are machined from 7075 aluminium and come black anodised to replace the stock plastic mounts with stiffer and more reliable parts that also increase the steering response especially on high-bite surfaces. The servo are available in a set of two pieces.

Xray Challenge Moravia & Slovakia Cup Rd6 – Report

After a month-long break the final round of the Xray Challenge Moravia & Slovakia Cup took place at the Hudy Racing Arena last weekend. Again all seven categories including Touring Car and Buggy classes where run. As usual the meeting started on Friday with free practice while the qualifiers and finals where run on Saturday. The off-road race took place on the same track as the EOS round two weeks before and had Martin Bayer walking away with the win in the 2WD class. Martin and Juraj Hudy completed the podium for an Xray XB4 2WD 1-2-3.

Serpent Cobra B 2.1 announced

Serpent announce the forthcoming release of an updated Cobra B kit in the form of the 2.1. The new version of the 1/8th nitro buggy will hit the stores very soon with the first kits shipping April 4th, but Serpent is still silent about the new features and specifications. Expect all details to surface very soon.

Coming as 7.4V 7200mAh standard type, 4500mAh shorty, 5800mAh saddle and 3.7V 7200mAh 1/12th scale pack, the rechargeable power sources are made using the latest 100C cells making them ideal for all power-hungry applications. All packs feature 4mm connector tubes while the standard-size 2S packs comes with dual tubes for a lower resistance and improved power load when needed.
