ZZRacing announce more titanium screw sets

ZZRacing expand their range of titanium screw sets for some of the latest on-road and off-road cars available. The screws are light of weight, hard, strong and significantly reduce the change of stripping the hex head due to the material used. For the moment ZZRacing adds sets for the ARC R10’2013, KM HK-1, VBC WildFire, VBC FF Twelve, VBC Flash04, Spec-R R1 and S1, Tamiya F104, Schumacher Mi5, TLR 22SCT and 22T, AE SC104x4 and Yokomo YRF001W.

Chris Jarosz wins 2WD Mod at the Nor-Star electric champs

Delta RC in Antioch, CA played host to the 1st Annual Nor-Star electric champs. Northern California’s best 1/10 electric drivers braved the triple-digit temperatures to see who would stand on the top step of the podium. Chris Jarosz was on hand to represent Team Associated, LRP, and Reedy. The racing, taking place on a sugar-prepped track, consisted of three rounds of qualifying along with a single seven-minute main event on Saturday. Jarosz set the time to beat early on in the 2WD Modified class, with his AKA-treaded Factory Team B4.2 topping the sheets after the first round of qualifying. This time held up throughout the scorching day in this most popular class on the weekend. As the sun was setting, the tone for the 2WD Modified main sounded with Jarosz taking a lights to checker victory over the 10-buggy field.

2013 FEMCA Championships – Announcement

2013 FEMCA Championships - Announcement

The Car Modelling Association of China have contacted us to invite everyone to the 2013 FEMCA Championships for 1/8th buggy and 1/10th ISTC which takes place in Beijing from the 18th to the 28th of August. The organisers are putting in a huge effort to make this an amazing race with a new purpose built facility for offroad located in the Fengtai Sports Center, which hosted many major sports events including the softball during the Olympics, as well as the already existing tarmac onroad track which previously hosted the Beijing International RC Invitational. Together with Masami Hirosaka, Trevor Reid and Charlie Siribodhi from FEMCA they will ensure that this a well run event. China is still an emerging market for RC and believe it or not this will be one of the first major Championships to be held on the mainland. Entries are open right now, and there are already some major names confirmed, and Red RC will be in attendance to cover the event. Kyosho Germany announce the release of several new option parts for the Mini-Z line of cars and buggies, the Scorpion XXL and the RB6 buggy. Starting with the Mini-Z parts, new is the Audi R8 LMS body set for the AWD line of cars. The limited edition item comes chrome plated and is specially made to celebrate Kyosho’s 50th anniversary. It fits all Mini-Z AWD cars. Made for the Mini-Z MB-010 buggies is an anti-roll bar set. Designed for the use on the front and the rear of the vehicle the option part reduces the chassis roll on high grip surfaces in order to improve corner speed and handling. Included are three pairs of front and rear anti-roll bars and mounting hardware.

S-Workz S104 4WD EK1 4WD buggy kit

At this year’s Nuremberg International Toyfair S-Workz, already known for their 1/8th electric and nitro off-road buggies, showed a prototype of their first ever 1/10th electric 4WD car and now the vehicle nears its public release. The S104 EK1 is based on a very narrow aluminium chassis and sports some very interesting design features such as a front pivot ball suspension, ‘1/8th-ish’ wheel axles with large diameter wheel hex adapters and wheel nuts as well as a forward-biased weight distribution with a rear battery mount for 2S LiPo saddle and 98mm shorty packs. The shock towers are cut from silver-colour carbon fibre with the rear item being of a split design with a lower aluminium camber link brace for added rigidity. Mounted to the damper stays are big bore aluminium oil-filled shock absorbers with mud deflectors to protect the shock shafts and seals. Included with the kit comes an aggressively shaped cab forward body shell with add-on polycarbonate dirt shields for the main chassis plate. It is understood that the kit will hit the stores by the end of August.

Much More introduce the Wonder body shell and Fashion wing for the Kyosho RB6 2WD buggy. The body sports a distinctive mid-cap design with reduced projection area for less aerodynamic drag, improved straight line speed and a more balanced low/high speed handling. A shark fin around the rear roof section improves straight line stability and jumping. The body is useable for mid and rear motor buggies and comes with a suitable Fashion called wing which is also available separately.

New from Duratrax come three additional off-road tyres for 1/8th electric and nitro buggies. Starting with the Dinero, the tread is designed to deliver excellent forward traction, side bite and long wear characteristics while the finer tread Score tyre is ideal for hard packed dusty track surfaces. The Barz tread though sports a smaller pin design with additional bars making it a good choice for hard packed indoor and outdoor clay surfaces. The tyres come as paris in soft C2 and super soft C3 compound.
