Dirk Wischnewski continues with Xray

More driver news from Xray who have announced that multiple European Champion Dirk Wischnewski will continue to race for Xray in 2013. Dirk will focus on the 1/10 nitro racing and the further development of the NT1 in 2013 and will participate at all major nitro touring races. Dirk had this to say:

After 5 successful years with Team Xray I’m happy that we will continue our partnership in the future. In 2013 I will concentrate mainly on 1/10 nitro touring class, here the biggest race will be the European Championship in Austria. But I will also do some electric touring car races especially during winter time. I like to thank Juraj, Martin, Mario and everyone at Xray for the great support over the last years. I’m looking forward to great and successful future.

Lee Speed Racing Design have introduced their new line of titanium pinion and V2 ultra spur gears, available for any EP touring cars on the market. Available in 48 and 64 pitch the pinion is designed to be lightweight and balanced, and can handle high torque while remaining very durable, while the spur gear is made from high quality Derlin material and after almost 1 year of testing the result have shown excellent strength and stiffness as well as low wear and low friction.

Alexander Hagberg wins 2013 Snowbirds

The Snowbird Nationals can be regarded as one of the biggest RC races in the world with 400+ entries in multiple classes, including the US oval classes. All are run in a 6 days long event which is held in Orlando, Florida. Racers gather from all over the world at this big event. Notable names from the European and US racing scene were present this year. Just like last year, Alexander Hagberg decided to join the race with T4 and X12 platforms, hoping for strong results in both Modified categories. Xray were represented in all categories, where the US drivers were strong contenders in the stock classes.

Sweep Racing F1 tires

Sweep Racing new F1 tires have been designed to fit F104 style chassis’. Unlike other tires on the market these F1 tires were designed with both asphalt and carpet surfaces in mind, have ultra high traction and have a sidewall that is designed to have a realistic look. Sweep claim that tire warmers or tire additives are almost not needed for these tires and they are still very easy to drive. Available for front and rear with double sided bar type inserts they are expected to be released before March.

Yokomo F1 chassis coming soon

Yokomo F1 chassis coming soon

Yokomo have released early photos of their new F1 chassis. Up front the car will features double wishbone type suspension with front stabilizer effect, adjustable front camber angle, caster angle, ride height and other adjustments. In the rear it uses link suspension and a ball differential. The chassis is made from 3mm carbon fibre and there will be an optional narrow front suspension.

Many of the cooling fans currently on the market are no longer powerful enough for modern high speed motors and ESCs resulting in lower performance as well as reducing their life. This Zeppin Racing cooling fan features extremely high air flow while consuming less power and comes with an aluminium motor mount for 540 motors. The set includes only 1 fan, but has an optional mounting point for a second fan.

Paul Lemieux re-signs for Xray

Paul Lemieux re-signs for Xray

Another re-signing from Xray who have announced that one of the world’s best on-road drivers and long time Xray team driver, multiple US champion in various classes, Paul Lemieux has re-signed to stay with the team for 2013. Paul will will also get into the off-road racing scene to race with the new XB4. In 2013 Paul race all regional, national and international races with Xray T4, NT1, X12, RX8 and XB4 and the busy calendar will include all US electric and nitro on-road nationals, Snowbirds and major off-road races. Paul had this to say:

I am excited about the continued partnership between myself and the Team Xray. I am especially excited to continue on with all of individuals that make up the Xray family as i know it. To me the “work hard but have fun” atmosphere which we have achieved at events around the globe has been the driving force in what keeps me racing. 2012 was possibly the best year of racing that I have had to date, the achievements of winning Snowbirds, 3 national titles in 3 classes and winning the Worlds warm-up definitely have given me confidence that all my sponsors commitment to racing and quality is second to none.

New from µ-Pro Racing Products are these optional in-board suspension mounts for the T.O.P. Racing Photon EX. This suspension mount set fulfills the demand of the drivers who prefer the traditional in-board suspension mounts over the Photon EX hanging suspension mounts. The set contains everything in the picture above plus there are also other mounts with different widths that are available to be purchased individually. The combination of these mounts yield different front and rear toe angles and tread widths.
