Eldridge claims EssexCarpetClash title with Rd6 win

Harley Eldridge is the overall EssexCarpetClash 2WD Champion, the Xray driver securing the title with victory at the sixth & final round. The 2022/23 championship concluded with an interesting track layout, having a straight that was diagonal with a couple of dogs legs, and a kicker jump that saw cars enjoy some ‘air time’. Kyle Moon with his Willspeed car dominated the 4 rounds of qualifying by TQ’ing all rounds to line up on pole for the final. Ellis Stafford would line his Associated ride up in 2nd, ahead of Harley Eldridge (both joint on points). Ed Kerry, Chris Delves would round off the top 5 of the 11 car final. The final would see Eldridge make some set up changes which suited her and she managed to take the win in leg 1 and 2, heaping up the places and winning the meeting. Moon, would take the 2nd step with Stafford rounding off the podium.

Nosram power for Holdsworth brothers

Nosram has announced the signing of British offroad racing brothers Josh and Luke Holdsworth. Racing for Schumacher, the 2022 European Championship A-finalists pairing will use Nosram batteries to power their buggies. They made their race debut as official Nosram drivers at the British Off Road Grand Prix over the weekend where 20-year-old Josh made the 2WD A-Main in the heavily stacked international field.

Orlowski does double at British Off Road Grand Prix

Michal Orlowski has completed the double at the British Off Road Grand Prix, the factory Schumacher driver holding off the challenge of Xray’s Bruno Coelho in 2WD and 4WD Buggy. Organised by SilverstoneRCMCC and taking place at the Centre:MK shopping centre in Milton Keynes, Saturday’s action saw Orlowski claim the TQ honours from last weekend’s MIBO International double winner Coelho with reigning European Champion Tommy Hall securing third ahead of Lee Martin and Norwegian Daniel Kobbevik. In the triple finals, Neil Cragg surprised everyone coming from 7th on the grid to take the A1 win from Orlowski but in A2 & A3 it was the Polish star who lead the field to claim the first title of the event which exposes RC Racing to thousands of weekend shoppers. Coelho would take second with Hall’s Associated completing the 2WD podium. In 4WD, again it was Orlowski who took the TQ topping all five rounds of qualifying before going on to an early victory by taking the opening two A-Mains. Coelho would win A3 to give him with tie breaker for second overall from the Associated of Dane Marcus Kaerup. In Truck, Jorn Neumann took the TQ and win with Lee Martin and Phil Sleigh joining the Sworkz driver on the podium.

Xray XB8E ’23 Buggy

Having announced the details of his XB8 ’23 1:8 Nitro Buggy a few days ago, today Xray has released the presentation of the electric version of their popular buggy platform. Like its noisier sibling the XB8E ’23 features all-new front & rear semi-split bulkhead with quick differential access without disassembling suspension and new front & rear diff height adjustment through eccentric bushings. A redesigned chassis layout offers the ability to place the motor and central assembly in a front or rear position to alter the weight balance depending on the track conditions. The new chassis layout was tested on all kind of surfaces to increase performance in any track situation. The shock towers are redesigned with the front & rear lower suspension holders having new mounting position with the front upper suspension holder matching the new servo saver. A redesigned wing holder fits the new semi-split rear bulkhead and the Wickerbill rear wing allows quick downforce adjustments and pre-marked airflow holes to reduce downforce.

Reds Racing 1:8 Motor 40mm Fan Holder

Reds Racing has produced this new aluminium 40mm fan holder for use on 1:8 electric motors. Clamping around the motor this help with heat dissipation which is fundamental to keeping your motor working perfectly. The two piece mounts are black anodise and finished with machined silver edges.

Made in the USA by Vargr Industries with high quality materials and the latest 3D printing technology, the fan shrouds are strong while keeping the overall weight incredibly light. A perfect match for the 1up Racing UltraLite 30mm Aluminium Cooling Fan but are fully compatible and look great with any 4-hole 30mm fans. Traditional Ducted is the most common and directs all air forward. This is flat on the bottom for those who want to chassis mount their 1up UltraLite Cooling Fan without the Optional Brass Chassis Mount, but still fits perfectly along with our Brass Chassis Mount. Weighs only 2.7 grams! Bypass for EP TC directs all of the fan air forward while also pulling in air from two vents on the top and right side, perfect for nearly every 1/10 electric touring car with belts and weighs only 3.5 grams! Like the Traditional Ducted Shroud, this is flat on the bottom for chassis mounting and fully compatible with our Brass Chassis Mount. 2wd Buggy Rear Fit funnels air between the endbell and transmission case towards the rear side of the motor. Tested and fit on the Team Associated B6.4, the shroud may require minor trimming for proper clearance on other buggies and it weighs only 1.2 grams!

WRC Racing 1:8 Truggy coming soon

Italian RC car brand WRC Racing, who made one of the biggest surprise signings of 2023 when they announced Ryan Cavalieri would lead their Offroad Nitro racing program, has announced that it has a new Truggy coming to market. Racing at the recent Dirt Nitro Challenge, Cavalieri contested the Truggy class with a Team Associated chassis but WRC are set to be able to offer their star American driver a complete race weekend package with the up coming release of the RTX Truggy to race alongside his SBX-2 1:8 Buggy.
