Italian company Capricorn have released this rim reamer tool for 1/8th and 1/10th scale wheels. The tool is simple to use, fitting into the back side of a rim and using the axle hole as a central rotation point, it allows your to change the thickness of the wheel by shaving the material away. A rim with thinner material is softer and so provides more traction.

Round 4 of the FSEARA (Florida State Electric Auto Racing Association) took place at Minnreg in Largo, FL. Minnreg is an indoor carpet track, one of the few in Florida. Every year, Mike Boylan hosts this race as the warm up to the annual Snowbird Nationals in Orlando, FL and this warm up race attracted many locals & out of town racers. From Friday to Sunday, there are both oval & on road events to prepare for the 400+ entry Snowbird Nationals. This on road event alone had about 70+ entries, making this an important on road race to attend.

Following the announcement earlier in the week that Paolo Maorganti had joined Team Titan, today they have announced the signing of former European Champion Dirk Wischnewski. The German factory Xray driver had the following the say about the deal:
After some intensive testing I was really impressed by the performance and quality of all Blitz body shells. So I decided to join Team Titan for the 2012 racing season. I will use Blitz body shells in all major international races including WC in Bangkok and EC in Cassino. Further I will help Team Titan to develop new innovative products.

A little bit short notice but the organisers of the Open Challenge Brandys race in Brandys Nad Labem in Czech Republic have got in touch to announced their event. Open to 1/10 open, 1/10 hobby, 1/10 GT and Formula 1, the race is a one day event which takes place on Saturday the 11th of February and will see Serpent Factory driver Marc Fisher competing. Roche RC has released the Rapide, a F103/F104 conversion kit. The wheel base is based on the F104 as 270mm, with a selectable width of 187mm (F104) and 200mm (F103). With a newly designed motor mount set, the width between the left & right mount is wider than the Tamiya original by 5mm meaning the main drive shaft bearing is closer to the wheel adaptor. At the back there is a simple design with adjustable “U Plate” rear suspension and there are different thickness “U Plate” to setup for different track condition. A narrow main chassis design makes it more stable with faster corner speed and moreover the chassis is compatible with Tamiya F104 bodies.

Team Titan have announced that top US Serpent racer Paolo Morganti has signed to use Team Titan products for 2012, racing with Blitz bodies. Paolo had this to say about the deal:
I am happy to join team TiTAN and use Blitz high performance bodies. During the Novarossi Challenge I tried them and chose for the R18 on this super high speed track and it give me great performance helping me to take TQ and 1st. I am looking forward to using these bodies in the coming races.

The BRCA held it Winter National at the popular Ardent indoor raceway near Derby at the weekend. This was the second year that Ardent had hosted the event, the format was three rounds of qualifying with the top 32 drivers going through to a Reedy style race of champions. The remaining drivers contested a more familiar UK national format with round by round qualifying and three leg final. In qualifying Olly Jefferies for Associated repeated his TQ performance from the 2012 Winter National, in 2012 Jefferies finished second to Andy Moore and early on it looked like the battle for top honours would once again centre on these two drivers.
