Racing Experience have released this exclusive Novarossi 21Plus S4 pullstart engine perfect for customers who wish to upgrade the stock motor in their 1/8th scale RTR buggy. This competition based engine is based on the Plus 4 motor and used a 13mm/square stroke set for super drivability and which also makes it easy to tune. Defending JConcepts Clash Champion Ryan Maifield set the pace on the opening day of the sixth running of the annual event with the Team Associated driver fastest in all three of the classes he is contesting and hoping to retain his 2011 titles. Putting most of his efforts today into his 1:8 Nitro Buggy, it was this class in which the Arizona driver looked to have the greatest advantage over his rivals at the Flowood RC Indoor Park in Mississippi.

The main honours at the sixth running of the annual JConcepts Clash is set to be a ‘clash’ between Associated’s Ryan Maifield and Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans with the duo running head to head in 1:8 Nitro Buggy, 2WD Electric Buggy and 2WD Short Course at the unique and famous US off road event which caters for both 1:8 nitro and 1:10 electric classes. With all five previous Clash events having been held in Florida and outdoors, for 2012 the event has undergone two key changes. The first of these was moving it away from the East Coast where JConcepts is based over to the state of Mississippi with the second and more significant change being to run indoors at the Flowood Indoor RC Park where they have created an impressive large track for the unique event.

Schumacher introduce the wide track rear conversion set for the use with the CAT SX3 and SX2. The kit contains new drive shafts, screws, shims and washers to increase the rear track width to the maximum legal 249.5mm in the UK in order to increase stability in corners and over bumps.

Thunder Innovation introduce the Team Alien titanium turnbuckles made from 6AL/4V material. The threaded rods are CNC-machined and available in several diameters including 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm and 5mm. The Pro-Line Ion 1/8th buggy indoor clay tire was designed from the ground-up and requires zero break-in tine. The unique molecular structure tread design provides forward and side traction and with the super-low tread height, maximum wear is reached by the alternating dual center lugs. The ION is also extremely easy to drive due to the super-smooth side tread that flows organically out of the tire sidewall. The new tire already proved its performance by taking the ROAR National Championship in Electric 1/8th buggy in the hands of Ty Tessmann.

Mccullough’s Offroad in Sarver, PA hosted the 11th annual East Coast Race Against Cancer. This year’s event had just over 200 entries, which provided some great racing in all classes. Team Associated driver Brandon Marsh competed in the 2WD Buggy and 1:8 eBuggy classes. In 2WD Buggy, Brandon was able to secure the overall TQ after TQ’ing three of four rounds of qualifying. He then went on to win the single 10-minute A Main with his Team Associated RC10B4.1. In 1/8th eBuggy, he TQ’d two of the four rounds of qualifying, but lost the tie-breaker for overall TQ. However, in the single 10-minute Main he was able to get out front early on and never looked back to take his second win of the weekend with his Team Associated RC8.2e. After all was said and done, this year’s event raised $15,000 for the American Cancer Society.
