Aigoin successfully defends Arena Truggy title

TLR are on target for a repeat clean sweep of the Arena Offroad Meeting with Yannick Aigoin successfully defending his truggy title at the indoor Rodeo ring in Voghera, Italy, this evening. Starting from pole, the Top Qualifier won the 45-minute encounter by a lap from Italian TLR driver Walter Floris who in the opening laps of the race managed to find a way passed the French driver.

Rabitti takes Q4, Bloomfield Top Qualifier at Arena

TLR completed a clean sweep of buggy qualifying this morning with Riccardo Rabitti taking the fourth and final round of heats ahead of team-mates Darren Bloomfield, who set the pace in Q2 & 3, and Yannick Aigoin who TQ’d yesterday’s opening qualifier. Overall Bloomfield secures his second honour of being the Top Qualifier having dominated yesterday’s Brushless Buggy action.

Durango DEX408 prototype shots

Durango DEX408 prototype shots

Seen at the Arena Offroad Meeting this weekend in Italy, the recently announced DEX408 is being run in prototype form by Austrian driver Gerd Pfeifer. We are told the final production car uses a similar configuration to that seen in the photos with the exception of the battery pack mount which will see the batteries lying flat instead of on their side as in this version.

First title of Arena 2011 goes to Bloomfield

Making his first appearance at the Arena Offroad Meeting TLR’s Darren Bloomfield has notched up the first title of the weekend at the Italian event with a dominant performance in the Brushless Buggy class. Topping three of the five 7-minute qualifiers ealier in the day the British ace secured TQ honours ahead of fellow countryman Simon Willets and his Mugen and Italian Xray driver Valerio Bellano.

Bloomfield holds overnight TQ in Italy

TLR driver Darren Bloomfield holds the overnight Buggy Top Qualifier honour at the Arena Offroad Meeting in Voghera, Italy, after securing his second TQ run of the day in the third of the four scheduled qualifiers with team-mate Yannick Aigoin the only one capable of denying him in tomorrow morning’s final round of heats.

Defending champion Aigoin tops opening Arena qualifier

Having taken a year out so as to avoid a clash with last November’s 1:8 Offroad World Championships in Thailand, Italy’s leading international offroad event is back and has taken over from the cowboys again with defending champion Yannick Aigoin opening qualifying with TQ runs in both Buggy and Truggy. The third running of the Offroad Meeting at the Arena Rodeo ring, which is situated 1- hours drive south of Milan, the two biggest changes to the indoor event are the weather and new title sponsorship from Sweep tyres.

Team Durango got in touch to show us a couple of teaser pictures of the upcoming DEX408 1/8 scale electric off-road buggy. The purpose-designed buggy achieved a good string of results in the hands of Team Durango’s Ryan Lutz who piloted a production-spec DEX408 during the last couple of weeks. LRP release the 30x30mm motor fan with aluminium mounting clamp. The compact unit fits nearly all brushed and brushless 540-size motors and helps to lowered the operation temperature and thus enhances the overall performance and motor life. The fan is powered via an unused output channel on the vehicle’s receiver.
