RC Show’12 – Announcement

CochesRC.com have announced the ‘RC Show’12’ an RC buggy event that will be held in Madrid (Spain) from the 1st to 3rd of June 2012. Drivers attending will be able to participate in a high level offroad competition, with international drivers, and also enjoy the rest of the activities and surprises, including a party. Entries are already open and space will be limited so if you are interested in attending sign up early. Some drivers already confirmed include Mike Truhe (USA-TLR), Yannick Aigoin (France-AE), Robert Batlle (Spain-Mugen), Miguel Matias (Portugal-TLR), Daniel Vega (Spain-Agama) and Alberto Garcia (Spain-Serpent). STRC have released a whole range of aluminium option parts for the Axial Exo Terra buggy. Add great looks and prevent your chassis from buckling during hard landing and crashes with these aluminium Front and Rear Heavy Duty chassis brace. The front brace features a high quality graphite steering upper plate and a solid one piece aluminium front chassis brace, while the rear features a heavy duty one-piece brace from the chassis to the rear gear box. The front steering system features a graphite steering rack that has more material around the screw holes and will not bend like the stock aluminium piece. TeamSR TLR 22T front shock tower

For the highly popular TLR 22T TeamSR have released this 4mm thick carbon fiber front shock tower. This functional yet aesthetically pleasing hop up is manufactured from true quasi-isotropic chassis grade carbon fiber and comes with pre-glued wet look edges to cut down on the much dreaded preparation time, recessed holes for the body mounts as well as all the necessary hardware required. This tower is a direct replacement of the stock tower and intended for the use with the TLR 22T only.

Nick Cattuna takes double at Cape Fear series Rd2

This past weekend was round 2 of the Cape Fear Championship Series at Cape Fear Raceway in Fuquay Varina NC. The Track was in prime condition and with the track taking a groove very early on Nick Cattuna went to Pro-Line’s Newest tire the Tazers which were up to the task of propelling him into a solid TQq in Pro Buggy and starting 2nd in E-buggy. Even after 25 minutes of hard racing in the Nitro A main final the tires continued to set the pace giving Nick Cattuna the win in Pro Nitro Buggy. He then went on to back that up with a win in the E-buggy class with some Revolver 2.0 M4 compound tires.

Phend wins Factory Tracks Midwest series Rd1

The first round of the Factory Tracks Midwest series was held last weekend at AMS Raceway in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Over 180 entrants competed in every electric off-road class imaginable, from 2wd buggy to 1/8th E Truggy. The AMS facility provided an excellent venue for the event, which is the only indoor race on the FTMS calendar. The layout provided some high flying action for the fastest classes, but was still very manageable for all skill levels. Electric 1/8th buggy has become one of the more popular classes in the Factory Tracks Series, and the large number of entries in this year’s season opener is a good indicator of things to come. After overcoming some mechanical issues early in qualifying, TLR/Horizon driver Dakotah Phend put his TLR 8ight-E 2.0 on the pole position. Once the A-main began, there was no looking back for the TQ, but there would be plenty of action in the rest of the field. Mike Sontag would take the second spot and Chris Peterson would take the final podium position.

Gergely Cseko wins Hunagrian Nats Rd2

The 2nd round of the Hungarian Offroad Championships took place in Apaj on the first weekend of May. Unfortunately the opening round had to be canceled due to heavy rain in April so finally the season could kick-off. The weather was nice finally and the organiser RCOR club put in a great effort to make it a good event. The track is a medium-high speed track with all different kind of jumps and corners. You need a very well balanced chassis setup especially going through the ruts in the fast banked sweeper after the straight.

Xceed Spark V1, Kruzer E & Lola 012 shells

Xceed have given a few updates to its line of on road bodies for 2012. The 1/10th 200m Spark V1 features a new design, a new rear wing, improved traction thanks to a new side profile and overall a better balanced shell. The 190mm 1/10th scale Kruzer-E is a super smooth handling body design for high traction carpet tracks. Finally for 1/8th scale the Lola 012 has a newly designed front end with extra dams for extra steering while the sides are the highest legally allowed which provide great stability. Available in standard and lightweight versions. All bodies are made from high quality polycarbonate and are supplied with window masking and decals.
