Fenix Racing Lancia LC2 1:10 Body

Another historical body from specialist producer Fenix Racing comes this 1:10 Lancia LC2 Group C shell.  In 1983 Lancia need a new car to compete with Porsche, in Group C class.  So far, using the synergy of the group, they choose a huge Ferrari V8 twin turbo as engine, tuned by Abarth, while the chassis was prepared by Dallara.  The result was the elegant and refined Lancia LC2, especially in his classic livery.  The fight was sort of “David and Goliath”.  While Porsche 956 was campaigned by the works team and a large number of private teams, the LC2 was used mostly by the works team.  Nevertheless the LC2 was showing quite a performance in terms of raw speed, bringing home during his racing career, 13 pole positions and 11 fastest lap.  Unfortunately, the LC2 was as beautiful as fragile, with only 3 victories.  Fenix Racing decided to depict the last Lancia victory, Spa 1985, although the result itself was overshadow by Stefan Bellof crash.  Produced in 0.75mm crystal clear lexan, the body is made to fit Tamiya Group C models, Fenix F1-70 and 200mm Pro10 models.  Supplied clear, it comes with a set of decals to depict Spa 1985 winning car.

ARC A10MF-26 1:10 FWD Touring Car

Taiwan onroad kit manufacturer ARC has just released details of its new A10MF-26 1:10 Front Wheel Drive Touring Car.  Building on the success of the previous generation A10MF, the new car features four brass weights in the front that can be used to adjust the centre of gravity distribution in the front of the vehicle.  A 10g round weight can be added in the middle of the front 45g weight.  Compared with the previous generation A10 MF, they have added a 30-gram weight in the middle.  These weights can be installed or removed at any time to adjust the overall weight distribution of the A10MF-26 and the front grip.  Also new are Light Weight Rear Upper Bulkhead that are made of carbon fibre.  In addition to reducing weight, this structure also increases the strength and grip of the rear end.  Newly designed aluminium adjustable shock tower allows more room for adjustment.  Each tower has two screws to adjust its supporting force/flex and the rear tower can increase the travel of the rear shock through one of the screws.  All steering hubs have been upgraded to 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, which improves overall durability and ensures all geometry is more accurate.  The roll centre can also be adjusted with shims on the hubs.

Gruber confirms he’ll defend 1:8 GT World title in Chile

Toni Gruber has confirmed that he will make the trip to Chile in September to defend his IFMAR 1:8 GT World Championship title.  The German won the title for his GT chassis sponsor Hong Nor and engine sponsor Ielasi Tuned in 2023 in Sydney, Australia, on what was only the second running of the World Championship for the category.  With the 3rd edition originally awarded to Peru, issues for that track meant it was moved to Chile and to  the very impressive Club de Aeromodelos de Chile (CACH) facility which houses a variety of RC tracks and airfields and which will also host the 1:8 Onroad Worlds 2-months after the GT event.  With the dramas of both 2024 IFMAR World Championships awarded to South American being relocated to Spain and Thailand, there has been talk of top international drivers not intending on travelling to Chile so we reached out to a number of the potential title contenders to clarify their position on supporting the event.  Gruber, whose title winning reaction photo almost broke the internet, had no hesitation in confirming he will be in Chile for the September 14-20th schedule event.

EWS Round 5 & Overall Championship – Report

The well-known Essex Winter Series concluded it’s 2024/25 season over the weekend at its venue in the South-East of the UK.  In the LRP Modified class, Olly Jefferies and Elliott Harper were tied on points going into the race, with Kyle Branson just two points behind, setting up a great showdown to round out the series.  In qualifying, Olly was on form, taking his factory Awesomatix to the fastest time in every round, putting a firm grip on the overall title.  Kyle Branson lined up second on the grid with his Tonisport-backed Awesomatix, with Alex Thurston taking the new Mugen MTC-3 to third.  Elliott Harper essentially saw his chances of another EWS title disappearing with a fourth place grid spot for Schumacher, and Stefan Chodzynski rounded out the top five with another Tonisport-supported Awesomatix.  In the final, Olly stamped his authority on the season with a commanding win.  Kyle took second place, about 1.5-seconds back on Olly, whilst Elliott and Alex battled hard for third. Elliott took third, whilst side-by-side racing over the last few laps allowed Bailey Graves to come through to fourth and Jack Collins take fifth. In the overall points, Olly Jefferies took the title, with Elliott finishing in the runner-up position.  Kyle was third overall with Alex fourth in the standings.  Harley Eldridge, missing this race to be at the ETS in Vienna, was fifth overall.
