Yaniv Sivan takes 2017 Israeli League Nitro Buggy title

The 9th and final round of the Israeli League Nitro Series and the 5th round of the Electric Series were held last week at the Negev Speed racing track in super hot weather conditions. Kyosho’s Yaniv Sivan would take the TQ in both classes but in the Nitro Buggy main final it was Ofir Avitan (Mugen) who came out successful after Yaniv suffered two engine flameouts. Tal Siles (Mugen) came in 2nd while Yaniv at least managed to secure the final podium spot. Overall in the championship and with seven of the nine rounds counting it was Yaniv with the victory from Ofir Avitan and Ido Carmon.

Schäfer wins 200mm class at Swiss IC Track Nationals Rd4

The recent round 4 of the Swiss Nitro On-road National Championship was held in Langenthal. While Simon Kurzbuch took the win in the 1/8th class it was Xray’s Michael Schäfer who TQ’d and won the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring category. The TO secured Michael the pole position for the A-main and saved him from having to attend the wet semifinals. At the start of the 30-minute A-main Michael was closely followed by teammate Traugott Schär but a flawless pace and a fast working pit crew kept him on top of things and so he was able to walk away with the win from Traugott in 2nd while Philipp Bühler in 3rd rounded out an all-Xray podium.

Bidovsky & Novotny win at Czech EP Off-road Nats Rd3

Round 3 of the Czech 1/10th Buggy Nationals was recently held in Velke Opatovice. The 2WD qualifiers saw Xray’s Kaja Novotny coming out on top in front of Ales Bidovsky (Xray) and Marek Schiller (PR) and in 4WD it was the same trio of Kaja, Ales and Marek that obtained the top 3 spots. In the 2WD mains though it was Ales who excelled after Kaja either made mistakes or got taken out. Overall Kaja was still able to bring home a 2nd place from Marek in 3rd.

Ryan Cavalieri doubles at Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout

The 20th Annual Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout was held this past weekend at Hot Rod Hobbies and Raceways in Santa Clarita, California. Historically the event attracts the top teams and drivers from around the U.S. with the 2017 edition making no exception. The event was held in the usual mix of Modified and Stock off-road classes and in the premier 2WD Modified Buggy category it was Xray’s Ty Tessmann who took the TQ after the qualifiers and he would also come out on top of the field in the opening A-main but A2 and A3 belonged to Ryan Cavalieri (Team Associated), coming from the 4 spot on the grid, after the wind played havoc on the drivers. With a constant performance Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin, who started from 3rd on the grid, obtained the runner-up spot while TQ holder Ty Tessmann had to settle for 3rd overall. Jared Tebo (Kyosho) in 4th and Dustin Evans (Team Associated) completed the top 5 result.

T-Works 7mm & 5mm short nut drivers

Coming from T-Works are two short nut drivers in 7mm and 5mm specification. Both are made of high-quality aluminium and they come black anodised and with silver edge details for looks. The 7mm variant, made for the M4 wheel nuts of 1/10th scale vehicles, features additional holes for screw driver blades that can help to crank even tightly fitted nuts while the 5mm variant is usable for the M3 nuts used to hold pistons and other parts on RC vehicles.

Kum Yew wins 4WD Buggy class at NOOB Rd5

The recent fifth round of the NOOB racing series saw Xray’s Kum Yew walking away with the win in the 4WD Buggy class ahead of Kamen Koh (Serpent) and Mark Lim (PR). In the opening A-main, pole-sitter Kum made a mistake in the early stages which cost him the lead. Mark took over the 1st spot with Kamen in 2nd. A technical gremlin however saw Mark surrender the lead, leaving Kamen and Kum Yew to battle it out, eventually resulting in Kum Yew taking the win. In the second leg, Kum Yew took the race win from start to finish to secure the overall win. In the final leg, Kamen and Mark battled it out, with Mark taking A3 after a mistake from Kamen.

The part is designed to increase the efficiency and durability of the servo saver and it comes machined from high-quality aluminium and hard-coated for looks and wear. Sugiura wins Invitational class at Kyosho Masters Japan

The 14th Kyosho Masters Japan were held this past weekend at the RC Land Taki track in Chiba with about 70 entries from Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia and Japan. The 2-day event was held in Invitational, Expert and Sports classes and in the premier Invitational class it was Yusuke Sigiura who walked away with the win from Wataru Takashiro in 2nd. In 3rd Dani Choi would round out the top 3 podium result.
