Answer RC lightweight locking wheel nuts

Answer RC lightweight locking wheel nuts

The new lightweight locking wheel nuts from Answer RC are now available. Designed to offer the best of both worlds, security and performance, the security aspect is two fold. Firstly the have a knurled section machined into the back of the nut to allow it to lock onto the wheel and secondly the nuts come with O Rings that seat into the back of the nut to secure the nut against the wheel stub axle and prevent vibration loosening. The nuts come with 8 o-rings giving you a complete spare set. The nuts are machined away on the faces and drilled into to save weight and as with any closed cap wheel nut, knowing that the stub axle will not get mangled up is always a welcome benefit. Available in red and black in both 1.0mm and 1.25mm threads.

Matt Sistrunk takes all at I-20 series Rd1

Last weekend was the first round of the I-20 series in Monroe, Louisiana. Racers from all over the area came to a freshly built track at Full Throttle Raceway. With the rain during the week the Track crew had some work ahead of them. By the time qualifiers started the track was in great shape. The Battle for TQ was close but TLR driver Matt “Puddin” Sistrunk took the top spot in buggy followed closely by TLR privateer Denver Houghton. Following the start of the main it was a three car battle with Denver taking the early lead followed by Matt and Allen McCoy. Matt and Denver battled for the lead the entire race with Allen in the shadows waiting for them to mess up. Matt passed Denver on the last lap of the race and they crossed the line .05 apart with Matt taking the win, Denver in 2nd and HB driver Allen McCoy in 3rd. In Truggy Matt started 3rd with Steve Traxler taking TQ. Matt took the lead in early going and never looked back, winning from the HB pairing of Jeff Gray in 2nd and Steve Traxler in 3rd.

JConcepts TLR 22 Punisher body

JConcepts TLR 22 Punisher body

The Punisher body by JConcepts for the TLR 22 is the meanest, nastiest thing out for 1/10th buggy racing. The slight cab-forward treatment is amongst the most aggressive in class giving the Punisher top notch performance. Blended wing / body design gives additional down-force to the side-pods and windshield which increases driveability, corner speed and jump control. The rear base of the cab area represents the latest offering for 1/10th buggy racing featuring a rear scoop allowing additional tune-ability and cooling for high-performance racing. The Punisher body includes both cut-lines so the user can trim to either rear or mid motor chassis configurations. In addition to the newly designed body JConcepts has included 2 of the popular 6.5″ wide high down force V-wings that are commonly used around the world.

Jared Tebo is Neo11 Champion

Jared Tebo is Neo11 Champion

Kyosho/Orion factory driver Jared Tebo has won the Neo11 this past weekend, his 3rd win from 3 attempts. Racing at this annual indoor off road event began last Friday and ran through to Monday, a bank holiday in the UK and most of Europe, and attracted the usual gathering of the best international racers from around the World. Qualifying would be a close run thing but in the end it was Jared Tebo that would take the top spot ahead of the three Ryans – Lutz, Maifield and Cavalieri. Following the Semis, in which we saw Atsushi Hara and Simon Willets bump up from low qualifying positions to move into the main and lost 9th place qualifier David Ronnefalk, it was Tebo who would start on pole ahead of Losi driver Darren Bloomfield and Mugen driver Robert Batlle in 3rd. The challenge never materialized in the final and Tebo could pull away and take the win comfortably, finishing a lap up on 2nd place Robert Batlle who had had a race long battle with Ryan Cavalieri, the American finishing in 3rd.
