Following first issues with their HV120 line of flight controllers, Castle Creations now issued another, extended, service advisory that applies to other HV controllers, such as the Mamba XL, too. According to Castle Creations a component used in the controllers features different specifications and these tolerances may lead to failure of the affected controllers.

Dmitry Malyshko has won the 4th round of the Russian EP Off-Road Cup series. The Race was held in Tula on the Hobby-Cents track with around 30 percent Astroturf and 70 percent dirt surface. After taking TQ after the qualification, Dmitry swept the A finals and won in front of Gennady Ereveev and Stepan Leshenko.

Team Durango are pleased to introduce their range of pro-level silicone-based shock absorber and differential oils. Available in sets, or individually, each oil has been tested and approved for optimum performance over a wide range of temperatures and track conditions. Ideal for the use with 1/10 and 1/8 off-road buggies and trucks. The shock oils range from 200 cst up to 700 cst with the differential oils ranging from 1000 cst up to 20000 cst. Both lines are also available in handy sets of 11 and 10 bottles.

During the European 1/8 scale Buggy Championships in Germany, Marco Rossi showed us the latest Reds Racing buggy engine, the R5T. Tuned by M. Rossi, the completely new designed long stroke 5-port motor features a new exhaust port with a booster function for increased acceleration, a new port design for better fuel economy, a new CNC-machined piston and an updated 14mm balanced crankshaft. Other features include ultra-high-quality Swiss ball bearings, a new composite slide carburetor and a cooled combustion chamber. Also new is a lightweight crankcase and cooling head with updated head design for a lower centre of gravity. The R5T will substitute the older XR line and becomes available starting from October 2011.
Continuing his free practice pace Dirk Wischnewski has topped the first round of controlled practice this morning at the 200mm European Championships in Ettlingen, Germany. The Xray driver set the pace over 7-minutes from Mugen’s Robert Pietsch with Italian teenager Biagio Spataro 3rd.

Team Orion got in touch to tell us about their latest addition to the R10 line of 1/10 scale speed controllers. Based on the the 4-times US National Champion R10 Pro the Swiss company introduces the R10 Race 2-3S Club Racing speed controller. The speedo, that is ideal for the zero degrees fixied timing class, features the same aluminium case as the Pro offerings, the Race offers the possibility to use LiPo batteries up to 3S with a 10.5T motor limit, 5.75V/3A linear mode BEC and on-board programming of various parameters like drive mode, punch, brake and low-voltage adjustments via the on/off switch. Using the optional DSB-R programming box gives additional access to boost and turbo programmes. The new speedo also sports a special capacitor board that allows the neat and secure positioning of the capacitors that are housed in a small plastic casing. Team C Racing release the V2 slipper hub for the TC02 2WD buggy. The plate features the original design but five lines of venting holes to reduce the temperature of the slipper hubs and pads when using high-power brushless motors. Included in the set are two hubs.
