David Ehrbar wins Czech Grand Prix

David Ehrbar wins Czech Grand Prix

Last weekend saw the Czech Grand Prix take place in Hrotovice with 90 racers in attendance along with some top international drivers too. In qualifying it was Toni Rheinard who stuck it on pole position ahead of David Ehrbar with new Tamiya driver Steen Graversen lining up in 3rd, with race organiser Michal Bok and Dennis Fadtke rounding out the top 5. In the finals Toni took the win in the first leg by just a second ahead of Steen, with David having to settle for 3rd spot. In the second leg David took the win, following a touch between Toni and Steen that opened a gap and allowed Ehrbar to take the lead, setting up a last leg battle for the overall title. In the final leg Toni set off and built up what looked to be an unassailable 3 second lead, but a crash together with slow marshalling lost the Tamiya driver his lead and once again David was there to pick up the pieces. This leg win secured Xray driver David Ehrbar his first International win ahead of Toni Rheinard in 2nd and Steen Graversen in 3rd spot. In the stock class it was Xray racer Zdenko Kunak that took the win from Rene Klöckner in 2nd driving a Tamiya and Jakub Plechac in 3rd for Hot Bodies.

Marc Fisher wins West German 1/12th Regional

Last weekend saw the latest 1/12th regional race take place in Schermbeck in the very West of Germany. Qualifying saw Daniel Sieber take the win in Heat 1 ahead of Markus Mobers, while in the 2nd heat Corally driver and European Stock spec champion Marc Fisher put down the quickest time, setting a new track record and a new qualifying round record. In the final heat Marc was trying some new tires and again managed to break both records that he had just set in the previous heat. In the finals Fisher took the lead in the first final and steadily pulled away, but at the 6 minute mark and while nearly a lap up on the 2nd place Mobers, his batteries lost power and he was out. With no problems in the final 2 heats Marc could easily power ahead to victory and with it the overall race win, with Markus Mobers in 2nd and Daniel Sieber in 3rd.
