Thomas Mayer takes victory at Rd2 in Austria

Last weekend saw the second leg of the Austrian 1/8th Off road championships at the A-Team Graz race track. The first leg 2 weeks prior could not be run, because of a overflooded race track at MARC Exklusiv in Kirschschlag. Also last weekend the weather situation was changing several times between sunshine and rain, but good track preparation made the event possible. After qualifying it was Hupo Honigl on pole for Durango, with Kyosho driver Martin Karner in 2nd and Mugen racer Christian Payer in 3rd.

Peter Harder wins Rd2 in Denmark

This weekend saw the second round of the Danish 1/8th off road Nationals take place at the tight and technical SOS track, south of Copenhagen. The weather forecast showed a lot of rain, but qualification was dry and due to a new and tight time schedule, that saw a 30 minutes final instead of the normal 45 minute one, it could have been worse. When the final stopped more heavy rain started. In the final Peter Harder picked up where he left off in round 1 by taking the win with his Novarossi powered Xray ahead of Martin Hansen for Kyosho in 2nd and Tim Culmsee with a HongNor in 3rd.

The RC Factory in Ohio

We were contacted by the people behind the RC Factory a new indoor off-road race facility opening 30 minutes south of Columbus in Jeffersonville, OH. The track is 80X150, made from the best Ohio top soil and built and maintained by Curt Schlichter, former of CRCRC, and is being built to suit all classes. Set in a 60,000 sq ft all concrete facility, with all concrete pitting area which is separated from the track area meaning no fumes and no noise. Full restroom facilities, blacktop parking and in future a concessions stand. They plan to be running a Saturday nitro program and a Sunday electric race program year round and be open for practice everyday. GRP coloured buggy rim decals

With the announcement that they will only sell their white 1:8 buggy rim, Italian tire company GRP have introduced some special coloured plastic decals. These durable decals come in 3 different colors, fluorescent orange, fluorescent green and fluorescent yellow and allow each driver to personalize their own rims to the colour of choice.

Mugen MBX-6/6T optional lower rear bracket

New from Mugen Seiki is this rear lower arm mount for the MBX-6 and 6T. This machined aluminum bracket houses the new plastic bushings which offers increased strength in this area and allows you to only replace the bushings when they get worn, not the entire bracket. The bushings, which can also be bought separately, come with 3 different pivot pin mounting positions to make multiple combination’s for roll centre adjustment.

Bitty Design 8ight EU Fighter shell

Having shown us their prototype Losi 8ight EU Fighter body shell last month, Bitty Design were in touch to tell us that their new body has been finalised and is now available. The new EU style shell features a fin along the top along with more pronounced channel over the back of the car to improve the downforce in high speed turns. Also thanks to a new air scoop situated along the side of the cockpit, the throttle and brake linkages don’t rub off the inside of the shell when in operation. Developed by Factory Losi driver Riccardo Rabitti, this new body has already won the 2nd round of the Italian Championships.
