Mugen Seiki have released new optional shock towers for their MBX-6T truggy chassis. Replacing the original carbon fibre parts, these aluminium version are much stronger but also slightly heavier. Machined down to help reduce the weight as much as possible, they are better resistant to heavy and awkward landings. Available for the front and rear of the car.

JConcepts work their Illuzion magic on the Losi 8ight-E 2.0, with the release of this newHi-Flow body. Special consideration have been made to the batteries, side guards, battery box and extra clearance around the motor and electrical. The Illuzion body is a drop fit and requires no hassles when installing or removing the body. In addition, JConcepts has taken the frustration out of the stock body design and has eliminated the front nose piece for extra durability and functionality around the front body mount.

Entries are now being accepted for what is quickly becoming one of the hottest nitro races of the year, the 2009 Horizon Shootout. This all 1/8 scale event will be held on the weekend of September 25-27th at one of the Midwest’s premier facilities, J-Tec Racing & Fun in Tilton IL. Many of the Nations top drivers will be in attendance including 2008 Shootout Champions Adam Drake, Billy Fischer and electric ace Dakotah Phend. It will be a tough task for these drivers to repeat in 2009 as the list of challengers is sure to grow in numbers and skill. The race will feature the world’s premier race announcer Scotty Ernst, who will be on hand to call all of the racing action. Classes for 2009 Shootout include 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Nitro Truggy, and new for 2009, the addition of an 1/8 Electric Buggy class. The Schedule will see Friday as an open practice day with the first of 3 rounds of qualifying starting at 10am on Saturday morning. Sunday will be reserved for mains only in an effort to get everyone on the road and home at a decent time. Entries will be limited to 200 and are expected to fill up fast. Last Saturday a number of foreign racers attended the 2nd round of the Spanish Championship, which was also the warm up race for the upcoming European championship next August. A very nice track greeted all the drivers, which was 80% astroturf, and after 5 qualifying rounds Hupo Hönigl claimed the TQ spot in 2wd, followed by the local driver Borja Hernandez and Martin Kreil. The Spaniards Alberto Cano and Miguel Santos in the following spots showed not only they are fast, they had pace enought to fight in the mains with the fast guys.
This weekend saw the 2nd round of the Colorado State Nitro Series held at Rat Raceway in Denver Colorado. Team Losi Driver Dustin Evans continued his dominant performance from Rd 1 a few weeks ago. Similar to Rd 1, Dustin again marched to the pole position after qualifying with the only 14 lap run. Dustin would go on to lead every lap and win the 35 minute main event unchallenged. Dustin has the points lead and looks to be the favorite for the Series Championship. Team Associated Driver Kody Numedahl Powered his RC8T to the front of qualifying in the Pro Truggy class over Losi Driver Lars Johnson. In the end Kody took advantage of his start and led every lap in the 35m Pro Truggy Class. Round 3 of the series will be June 13, at Colorado Fast Track in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
DE Racing has just released this new rear skid plate for the Jammin / Hong Nor X1-CR/CRT and X2-CR/CRT buggies. Made of ultra thin resin, eliminating the need for longer screws, the plates provide protection for your expensive buggy or truggy chassis. The plate wears just like aluminium but is much cheaper to replace than a complete chassis.

Yokomo have released a full option version of their European and Japanese Championship winning B-Max4 buggy, as used by their Japanese National Championship drivers. The car, the B-Max4 ’09 has been strengthened through the use of aluminium option parts with a new central motor mount, lower suspenension brackets as well as a new steering brace. Other small changes have given this car better responsiveness, making this already winning car even better.
Team Associated have released all-new shock towers and suspension mounts that have been developed by their engineering staff and were race tested by factory team drivers. With a wide variety of tuning options for varying track conditions, both front and rear towers feature additional shock mounting positions while the rear tower also includes additional camber link positions. CNC machined from 7075 aluminium, these new shock towers are standard equipment on the RC8B and can be fitted to existing RC8, RC8RS, and RC8e chassis. All installation hardware and a set of hinge pin bushings (front) are included. Also the new suspension mounts come standard on the RC8B, but are the perfect upgrade for all RC8, RC8T, and SC8 vehicles. Because they are CNC machined from 7075 aluminium, they offer a precision fit and are extremely durable. All plates come with the necessary installation hardware, while the B and D-plate come with additional titanium nitride-coated hinge pins and a set of hinge pin bushings.
