Joel Lee doubles at Cottage Grove Invert race

Cottage Grove RC recently held their annual Invert race. The event sees the A1 grid order start based on qualifying order, A2 grid order is inverted, and the combined A1 and A2 points decide the A3 starting order. The two best results of three then decide the final results. In 2WD Pro Stock Buggy Joel Lee would take the TQ and with wins in A1 and A3 he would grab the overall beside scoring a DNF in A2 due to a stripped bulkhead camber link. Terry Shulz would come in 2nd from Loren Smith 3rd.

Mugen MTC1 1/10th electric touring car – Teaser

Mugen Seiki have released a first teaser of their forthcoming MTC1 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. No information are given yet on the company’s first try in this ultra-competitive class, but by the looks of things the kit will utilise at least a new suspension design with the upper arms being made up using moulded composite parts rather than turnbuckles which could be a hint towards a pivot ball suspension over the conventional C-hub design. We bring you more information on the project as soon as they become available.

Joel Eaton wins Super Stock Buggy at April Fools Classic

The April Fools Classic hosted by Murf’s Intermountain R/C Raceway for the past 29 years hit a record high 365 entries this year. Super Stock Buggy was a nail biter for Joel Eaton (Xray). Starting from the TQ position lap 1 was perfect for him but entering the infield burm turn on lap 2 his car unexpectedly hit a bump and flipped causing the car to fly end over end onto the straightaway. Luckily for him most of the field also had issues through the 180 degree burm turn and Joel was able to rejoin in 3rd. By lap 3 he was already back in second and had a race long chase to catch leader Charley Cavalier (TLR) with in the closing stages. Pushing Charlie he made a mistake over the huge booter triple that allowed Joel to pass as he crashed. Eaton was able to hit his marks and take home the win from there, taking home the win from Charlie Cavalier 2nd and Tony Newland (Schumacher) 3rd.
