Lee Martin does double with 4wd BRCA National win

Again oOple are reporting that Lee Martin sealed up a near perfect start to the 2010 BRCA 1/10th off road national series with a second day of outstanding racing giving him TQ and the win in all three legs of the A final to go along with his 2WD win the previous day. Tamiya TRF driver Lee Martin moved from Associated earlier this year, a decision which appears to be paying off, leaving round 1 in Talywain with perfect result in both classes. Lee Martin wins opening BRCA 2wd National

Our friends at oOple are reporting that Lee Martin took an impressive victory with the new Tamiya 2WD electric buggy, the TRF 201X, at the first BRCA off road national of 2010 at Talywain, Wales. 17th April 2010. Defending Champion Ellis Stafford took three rounds of qualifying to take overall TQ with the XFactory X6 as he looked to start another domination of the UK 2WD series. The first leg of the A saw Ellis take an easy victory without much trouble. Lee Martin took leg two and it was all down to leg three as Ellis and Lee battled it out in a very exciting final race. A last minute pass from Lee saw him take the win and with it his first National 2WD win. Ellis Stafford finished 2nd overall and Grant Williams taking third with the new Schumacher Cougar SV. ROAR adopts IFMAR ladder main system

As posted in the Nationals Guidelines regarding fuel classes ladder main system, ROAR has adopted the IFMAR style of ladder mains for the respective fuel on-road and fuel off-road classes. The qualifying procedures and seeding for the finals will follow the current IFMAR formats for each class.

Pro-Line have announced that their controversial new Bull Dog shell is now available for the Mugen MBX-6 and Losi 8ight. Featuring an advanced forward cab design, it generates unmatched off-power steering, while the exposed cylinder head stabilizes engine temps and the flattened rear deck feeds the wing with clean air flow. Made from durable / genuine .040 Lexan, the shell is supplied with decal sheet, window mask and paint-then-peel overspray film. These new shells join the previously available versions for the Hot Bodies D8 and Associated RC8.

Picco Boost .21 Competition buggy engine

Italian engine company Picco have released details on their new .21 competition buggy engine, the ‘Boost’. Optimised for improved fuel economy and drivability, this 3 port ABC engine, features a lightened crankshaft with silicon paste. Sporting an over-sized turbo head insert, the cooling head has been lightened through the use of holes in the fins to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible. The motor is supplied with a composite slide carburetor with 6 and 7mm venturis, and both the crankcase and cooling head sport update graphics.

MIP Blitz ball diff, C-CVD & hex adaptors

MIP have released a number of new option parts for the HPI Racing Blitz. First up is this ball differential kit, which replaces the stock gear diff with no modifications necessary. Made with a hardened high strength alloy, it has excellent wear resistance. MIP have also introduced their high strength hardened C-CVDs with new snap rings for even more confidence and reliability. Finally, MIP have released a hex adaptor kit, which allow the user to run 1/8th scale wheels on the Blitz. Made from 7075-T6 aluminium, it has been anodised for protection against oxidation. Kit comes with bearing journal spacers for front & rear.

As seen at the toy fair earlier in the year, Kyosho have now released full details on their new Ultima RB5 SP2. The SP2 Edition is the latest in the Ultima line of vehicles, which is a further development of the breed, and it includes all the enhancements that have been designed by Kyosho engineers and tested over the last couple of years by Kyosho International factory drivers like Jared Tebo and legends of the RC world. This biggest change to the RB5 SP2 was the fact that the motor has been shifted left to better improve the balance the car with all components now center and true.
