Factory RC YZ-4 carbon shock towers & battery brace

Factory RC have introduced new carbon fibre option parts for the Yokomo YZ-4 1/10th 4WD off-road buggy. First up are front and rear shock towers made from 4mm black carbon fibre. Both the front and rear tower are of a beefier design while the rear part also allows for adjustable wing height. Thanks to Factory RC’s Leading Edge treatment the parts sport chamfered edges that make sanding unnecessary. Also new is the shorty battery brace that was specifically designed for a precise fit while allowing plenty of adjustment when running the battery cross wise in the chassis. Moulded Delrin stop blocks hold the battery firmly in place and full forward and reward battery placement can be achieved as well as in between positions and other configuration. Due to the thinner 3mm carbon fibre material full chassis flex will be retained.

Ng Chiu Man would top qualify in the 1/8th nitro class and after a good start into the A-main he looked like he would bring home the win but some tome into the race 5th place qualifier, Kelvin Hui was able to close the gap to the leader quickly. At about the 35-minute mark both were only separated by about a second but with less than two minutes to go Hui’s car suffered an engine failure on the straight which allowed Ng Chiu Man to cruise to the win. 3rd placed Nelso Woo could not capitalise from Kelvin’s issue so he had to settle for 3rd while a lucky Kelvin snatched the runner-up spot.
