Futaba O.S. Speed Tuned high-performance servos

Futaba have introduced a special line of “O.S. Speed Tuned”-branded servos for 1/8th and 1/10th scale applications to celebrate the two company’s long-running collaboration. First up is the Speed T1 BLS571SV (0.08s/11kg-cm) low profile servo for 1/10th touring car and off-road classes. It offers hardened gears, ceramic ball bearings and aluminium top and middle sections. Next up is the Speed R1 BLS371SV (0.10s/19kg-cm), a standard-size servo for 1/8th on-road applications featuring hybrid gears, ceramic bearings and an aluminium upper case and middle section. Last but not least is the Speed B1 S9373SV (0.06s/24.6kg-cm), an all-alloy case servo for buggy racing, again with hybrid gears and ceramic bearings. All servos are high-voltage compatible and they come in a special red and black anodised design and with dark-toned servo leads.

Aaron Stringer doubles at Pine Hills race

The recent Pine Hills race saw Mugen’s Aaron Stringer walking away with a double win in the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes. Aaron would grab the top qualifying honours in Buggy while Mitch McCallum (Kyosho) went fastest after the qualifiers in Truck. The Buggy final then saw Aaron bringing home the win from Mitch McCallum and Alex Bernadzik (Team Associated) in second and third respectively. In Truggy it was again Aaron who walked away with the hardware while Caleb Noble (Mugen) and Mitch McCallum (Mugen) had to settle for second and third.

ORCA 6300mAh LCG HV Gen 3 LiPo battery pack

ORCA have introduced their new 6300mAh LCG HV Gen 3 high-voltage LiPo battery pack. Offering a nominal voltage of 7.6V the 2S pack is of low centre of gravity specifications and only 22.5mm tall compared to the standard 25.1mm which can lead to high corner speeds. The pack weighs in at 272g and it can be safely charged up to 8.7V but it will also show exceptional performance when filled to the currently race-legal 8.4V.

T-Works TKI3/4 carbon fibre centre gearbox plate

Coming from T-Works and made for the Kyosho MP9 TKI3 and TKI4 kits is a carbon fibre centre gearbox plate. Designed to replace the standard aluminium part the carbon fibre plate is of a very low weight and it adds some visual impact to the centre part of the buggy.

Team Magic E5 stainless steel skid plates

HRC Distribution have introduced new stainless steel skid plates for the Team Magic E5 monster truck. Machined from high-quality material and coming with a natural silver finish, the plates not only reduce the chance of damaging the chassis during those demanding bashing sessions but they also lower the truck’s overall centre of gravity for a more planted feeling. Available are a front and a rear chassis guard with both including the needed mounting hardware.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 Spec A nitro buggy roller

Coming soon from Kyosho is the Inferno MP9 TKI4 Spec A 1/8th nitro buggy roller. The pre-assembled kit out of Kyosho’s Spec A range is built by experienced staff and the kits are individually checked by Inferno designer Yuichi Kanai. Areas such as shock absorbers and diffs are built to very high standards to guarantee best performances as are details such as ride height and suspension geometry that all come pre-set and race-ready. On top of this the bodyshell is pre-cut, reducing preparation time significantly. As for the specifications the Spec A kit comes with the same features as the standard TKI4 kit and it will hit the stores beginning of March.

Xray welcome Armand Lantheaume

Xray have announce the signing of former French National Champion, Armand Lantheaume to their team for the 2017 season. Armand will race the XB2 and XB4 platforms at national and international level events and the 3-times national vice-Champion had the following to say:

After extensive testing of all Xray cars last year I was just amazed by the performance and quality of the cars and I am really happy that I was given the opportunity to be part of the Xray team for 2017. I will attend all the major French races and will do my best both in racing as well helping all Xray customers. Big thanks to Xray for the trust in me and I cannot wait to hit the track.

Alex Zanchettin successful at Enjoy Drive race

This past weekend the Enjoy Drive race was held in Rome, Italy and it was newly signed Tekno driver Alex Zanchettin who took the winning honours in the Electric Buggy class with his TMG-powered buggy. Patrick Pistolesi (Mugen/TMG) would come in second.
