ST Racing Concepts Traxxas upgrades

New from ST Racing Concepts are a number of anodized optional parts for the Traxxas range of cars, including the Slash. They have teamed up with one of the best manufacture in the business and MIP’s multiple World Championships and National Championship winning design CVD can now be part of an important upgrade to your Traxxas Slash. The new C-CVD style design eliminates the original set-screw over drive pin design and instead utilizes a unique screw-on outer C-Ring that captures the drive pin in place. The CVD bones are also constructed of larger diameter for even more durability and comes complete with a pair of beefy steel diff outdrives as well. Also works on Nitro Stampede and Nitro Rustler The company also offers a heat treated polished steel lock-nut style hinge-pin kit, which will solve the problem of the stock hinge pins backing out of the A-arm. CNC Machined from high-quality steel, it is then heat treated to increase durability and then polished for ultra smoothness, nylon insert lock-nuts at each end of the hinge-pin prevents the pins from ever coming loose. Finally, just for looks, there are these CNC machined aluminium front body posts, with multiple body clips holes to adjust the front body height, and available in 4 colors – Black, Silver, Red, and Blue, to match any paint scheme. New from German company PSM Racing are these anodized 1/8th scale buggy shock mounts. Machined from high grade aluminum, they are supplied in a set of 4 and are designed to fit perfectly on the Hobao Hyper 9 and 8.5 shock towers. Available anodized in blue, grey or silver.

JConcepts Bar Code buggy tires

JConcepts have released their Bar Code design buggy tires in blue compound. Like the name suggests the alternating bar design provides uncompromised support for blue and black groove conditions. Designed for maximum performance when new or used as the design allows even wear all the way down to the tire body. Bar Codes in new condition excel on hard surfaces that have taken rubber with either dry or wet grooved conditions. Worn Bar Codes excel on indoor or outdoor clay tracks where a minimal dust groove has formed.

Pure Six – Mugen MBX-6

Proline Cup Denmark report

We received a report from the Proline Cup which took place last weekend in Vejle, Denmark, the first time in many years there was a buggy race held indoors at a sports centre. There was 5 classes in total 1/18, Monster Trucks, Stock/beginners Starter, 2WD and 4WD. The track was a combination of carpet and smooth cement floor which took the competitors a little while to get used to, but was a fun challenge and the jump was built in wood and was a little squared and not quite natural, but worked well without crashing the cars.

As seen at the toy fair on the HPI Racing stand, the Japanese company has released this special machined lightweight 4mm thick chassis for the World Champion Hot Bodies D8 1/8th scale buggy. Strategically milled out to reduce weight in non-critical areas, you can drop some serious weight exactly where you need it while maintaining the integrity required for a stiff racing chassis.

ROAR Florida State Off Road Series Rd3

Gene Hickersen sent us the following report from the 3rd round of the ROAR Florida State Off Road Series hosted by Hurricane R/C Club in Lutz Florida. This is usually the largest race in FL every year and 2009 was no exception with 196 entries. All of the best drivers in the South East were there to test their skills on the tight & technical layout at the world famous Lake Park track. Thursday night brought some rain, which kept the moisture in the track all weekend for the blackest blue groove I have ever seen. Team VP Pro USA was in attendance with myself, Joey Perez, and even Ryan Lopez driving down all the way from Georgia. Jason Rouna and JR Mitch from J-Concepts were there as well as Leon McIntosh from Pro-line and Ryan Eckert from AKA Tires and many other fast drivers from various manufactures.
