We recieved a mail yesterday telling us about the Belgian built Vantomme M12 1/12th scale electric pan car. This car is the 2nd generation chassis, the first called the M1.1 was built in 2005 and was based on the Speed Merchant Rev4. This latest version features a number of improvements including numerous chassis cut-outs, extreme small lower motor plate for easy access motor, a sharp X shape front design and a very short chassis with an extra bumper to attach. The ‘VantommeM12’ hit the circuit for the very first time last weekend, during a ‘MRCZ Challenge race’ and finished a hard fought 3rd after qualifying 2nd.

I received some pictures of Martin Hudys Xray T2’008, taken at the Austria Masters in Steiregg, in my mail box while i was on holidays 2 weeks ago and presumed that they had already been spread around the internet while i was away. But reading through RC Tech it appears that people havent yet seen them so here they are. As you can see it has the belts placed on either side of the main spur gear as well as other small changes that i wont even pretend to know.

CRC Gen-X and Losi 8ight parts

CRC Gen-X and Losi 8ight parts

Calandra Racing Concepts in the US have released a number of new parts for their own line of carpet racers as well as something for off road buggies. First up the release of a carbon fiber cross brace for the Gen-X (above) which mounts to the CRC lower arms, keeping the front end strong, straight and true even with the heaviest impacts. The brace also acts as a mount for CRC’s new “Long-Arm” option, coming soon for the Pro Strut front end. Also new are a number of super strong and light titanium parts such as upper pivot balls for the Pro Strut front end, front end screws and tie rods, also for the Pro Strut front end. Finally, for the Losi 8ight and 8ight T, CRC have made some “No-Pop” steering balls that capture the link, keeping the tie rod attached to the ball even in the event of a hard impact.

Contact 300 Classic 2wd chassis

Contact 300 Classic 2wd chassis

Following from the earlier report about the new DXF Competition 2wd Classic chassis, comes information about another chassis in this class. This car despite being shown in CAD images has actually been produced, the Contact 300 is the brainchild of French racers Thierry Simon and Gilles Garrigou, who have produced this car for use by their team drivers only. The car again sports the conventional layout of the Classique type car but uses modern materials throughout and has fully adjustable caster and front camber. The company are currently working on a new design for the 310 and we hope to show you more information when we get it.

Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Japanese company Rony have announced the release of some new carbon parts for both the Kyosho Spada and the Xray NT1. The Spada gets a new chassis plate which Rony have made from carbon fibre, replacing the standard aluminium version and therefore saving weight without sacrficing strength, although not sure how heat dissipation will be handled. New for the NT1 is a rather beefy looking 4mm thick carbon fibre rear shock tower, the latest in a long line of companies to try their hand at this part.

DXF Competition 1/8 Classic chassis

DXF Competition 1/8 Classic chassis

The 2wd ‘Classique’ class seems to be going through a bit of a resurgence of late with new cars coming out more frequently in this rather innovative class. The latest car due for release is the French made (we presume) DXF Competition chassis and while it follows the same design lines as previously released cars in this class, it loses the DIY look. Expected to be released in January next year, the car sports an aluminium chassis, fully anodised aluminium parts and the front end of the car has highly adjustable geometry.

Tamiya TRF416 EP Touring car chassis

Tamiya TRF416 EP Touring car chassis

Tamiya released information about their new touring car chassis, the TRF416, a few days ago and now, a few days late, we have it too. The new car is designed to be optimised for brushless motors in conjunction with event-controlled tires but to achieve success under such conditions, a fine balance must be achieved between handling and tire wear. It is with this in mind that Tamiya designers developed the concept of this brand new TRF416 chassis, apparentley. Please note that images show pre release prototype.
