Adrian Wicaksono wins Jakarta Buggy regionals Rd3

The third round of the Jakarta regional Buggy Championship was held at the Graha Raya track, in Serpong, West Java with about 50 drivers attending the event. The race format was changed a bit this weekend as overnight rain made the track wet and muddy and so the triple qualifiers were cut short from ten minutes to seven minutes per run. After the qualifiers and with the two best to count it was Rama Tribudiman (Team Associated/O.S.) who took the TQ honours, but in the 45-minute A-main Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Reds Racing) stroke back to take the win from John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) and Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) in second and third respectively. TQ holder Rama had to settle for fourth overall.

Colin Herzig takes Nevada State Championships title

Colin Herzig takes Nevada State Championships title

The 2016 Nevada State Championships were held this past weekend at RC Tracks of Las Vegas, just one mile off the World Famous Las Vegas Strip. Kyosho America’s Colin Herzig who has been on a tear all year long would add another impressive win to his resume. With only a few minutes left in the 30-minute Nitro Buggy A-main event, it was Herzig, Dylan Rodriguez from Hot Bodies, and Yuichi Kanai, Kyosho’s lead buggy engineer, all battling it out for the top spot. As the checkered flag waived, it was Herzig crossing the finish line 1st to take the win, just one second ahead of Rodriquez who finished 2nd, and Kanai just one second back from Rodriquez for 3rd.

Golem R-2 190mm low CG touring car bodyshell

Golem R-2 190mm low CG touring car bodyshell

Indonesian manufacturer Golem has introduced the Golem R-2 low centre of gravity 190mm touring car bodyshell. Designed to make for an aggressive and precise handling, the body will also up cornering speed with its overall lower centre of gravity. This was made possible by reducing the thickness of the roof section from 0.45mm down to 0.2mm. Golem have also moved the body about 4mm to the front compared to the predecessor R1 which makes for a more aggressive steering feeling. According to Golem the body is about 20 percent lighter while keeping exceptional strength in the bumper and side skirts section. As a compensation for the more forward position the body features larger and lower wing mounts to allow for a taller wing to be used while still complying with the rule books. On top of this the wing mounts were reinforced for less flex and vibration and the default wing positions is now 3mm further to the back compared to the R1 which is meant to provide less drag and more effective downforce.

Arrma Nero 6S BLX brushless monster truck

Arrma have introduced their all-new Nero 6S BLX brushless ready-to-run monster truck. The 513mm long vehicle builds on a tough twin vertical plate chassis made up using red anodised aluminium which is further supported by a composite plastic exoskeleton that also acts as a support for the bodyshell. The truck is powered by a 2000kv brushless motor that is coupled to the centre aluminium bulkhead that not only sits very low in the chassis but it is also easily accessible from underneath, making for swift and easy maintenance and cleaning. The servo-operated system is accessible on-the-fly using the included 2.4GHz transmitter and it offers Blast, Wheelie, Drift and Climb modes, all of which feature specific front, centre and rear diff settings. Other features of the Nero 6S include front and rear laydown shock absorbers with push rods, easy access differentials, adjustable pivot ball suspension, aluminium and steel driveshafts, and pre-glued large diameter dBoots monster truck wheels.
