Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road National Championship was held last weekend at the Real 80 track in Groningen in the North of the Netherlands. The weekend started with free practice on Friday which resumed on Saturday but unfortunately changing weather conditions with some very light rain made for difficult track conditions and a lot of uncertainties in terms of the setup. However on Sunday the weather changed to the better and the race would start as planned. Hoppe & Ermen join ARC nitro team

ARC has announced the signing of Germany’s Lars Hoppe and Dutch frontrunner John Ermen to their factory nitro team. Lars was already working together with ARC as part of his 1/10th touring car campaign and he now also makes the move over to the 1/8th nitro team following successful years of being with Shepherd. Dutch 1/8th nitro on-road nats final round – Report

Last weekend the small and technical track of the MBC de Sluis club in the Dutch “cheese city” of Gouda held the final race of this year’s 1/8th nitro on-road nationals. In the NK class Gunther van Steay had already secured this year’s overall title due to a brilliant year but there were still many other top positions to fill at the final round. Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals Rd4 – Report

This past weekend the 4th round of the Dutch 1/8th scale nationals was hosted by the friendly people of the Model Auto Race Genk club in Belgium. The weekend was characterised by the weather. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away by the rain with only two dry hours at the very end of the practice. Sunday started dry, but after the 3 qualifying rounds it started to rain again. Van Iperen & Arents win at wet Dutch nationals Rd2

Last weekend the Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals had their 2nd round run at the REAL80 track in Groningen. Despite the wet weather all weekend 39 drivers attended. After 3 rain soaked qualification rounds it was John Lenaers and John Ermen who took the pole of the NK class semi finals. After the semi finals there was an interesting drivers list for the main final, as both John’s were not able to reach the final. The main itself then did look more like a battlefield. Van Staey wins NK class at Dutch season opener

The first round of the Dutch nitro on-road nationals took place at the prestigious Apeldoorn track. In the 1/8th NK class Belgian driver Gunther van Staey took the overall TQ for the semifinals and also completed the final in first place, one lap ahead of Xray’s John Ermen. RickV wins NK class at Dutch on-road championships

Last weekend saw the 6th and final round of the Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals run at the Raco 2000 track. With Robin d’Hondt, RickV and John Ermen heading the ranking the race would also decide the 2013 championship in the NK class. John just needed a top 4 finish to make the championship while RickV would need to win in order to grab the title. In the first qualifying round John showed to be the fastest but RickV, Gunther v. Wurst & Lenaers are 2013 Western German champs

Christian Wurst and John Lenaers are the Western German 1/8th nitro on-road champions. Serpent racer Wurst took the title and the prestigious #1 start number for the 2014 season in class 1, Mugen driver Lenaers caught the title in class 2.
