Jörn Neumann dominates Petit RC Race Barcelona

The 10th edition of the Petit RC Race was held this past weekend at the RBR36 Arena in Barcelona, Spain, a new indoor facility built and owned by 1/8th Buggy World Champion Robert Batlle. As usual the race attracted some of Europe’s fastest drivers, this time including Jörn Neumann, Migual Matias and of course Robert Battle. The 2WD Buggy and Short Course classes, run on Saturday, saw Jörn Neumann and Robert Batlle leading the proceedings. Jörn took the overall TQ from Dani Batlle while Robert Batlle rounded out the top 3 result. In the Short Course class, that was run in a “finals only” mode, Robert was the man to beat on his home track as he won all but one final legs to take the win from Uri Valde and Vicente Moyano.

Kutvonen continues with Awesomatix for 2015

Awesomatix have announced that top Finnish driver Viljami Kutvonen has extended his contract as factory team driver with Awesomatix for the 2015 race season. The 2014 LRP Touring Car Masters champion and multiple ETS A-Finalist will attend to all major big races in Europe this year including the Russian Touring Masters. Viljami had this to say:

I’m very happy to continue with Awesomatix as factory driver. Last year we made our biggest achievements yet and we are looking forward to improve our results for the upcoming season with our new Evo II car. I want to thank Oleg Babich for his support since 2012 and our new team manager Max Mächler for trusting in me and we are looking forward to our most successful year yet.

Etronix Powerpal Peak Plus multi-chemistry AC charger

Coming from Etronix is the Powerpal Peak Plus AC charger for the use with NiMH and LiPo battery packs. Housed in a durable alloy case with integrated heatsinks the device offers selectable 1A, 3A and 5A charge current for 1 to 8 cell NiMH/NiCD or 2S to 3S LiPo/LiFe battery packs. A microprocessor controls the delta-peak sensitivity during NiXX and the individual cell balancing during LiXX charge an the charger comes including a UK or Euro pin main cable.

Hupo Honigl joins Serpent Factory team

Multiple European offroad Champion Hupo Honigl has joined the Serpent Factory team. The former TeamC driver will race all major offroad events in 1/10th scale 2wd, 4wd, ST and SCT with Spyders, as well as all main 1/8th scale events with the Cobra line, GP and EP, truggy and buggy. With his vast experience he will be a big help to all Serpent drivers, and show the true potential of the Serpent offroad cars in Austria, Germany, USA and elsewhere. He will also run the new Serpent S120 1/12 race chassis and work together with Michael Salven and Paul Ciccarello on the development and test side. Expect to see Hupo make his debut for Serpent at next week’s Reedy race in California. Hupo had this to say:

I’m really proud of being part of Serpent now. Not only as driver but also on the business side through my distribution company Hoeco. After being told to be rejuvenated in the beginning of last year, I feel even younger and more motivated then ever before. After building my first Serpent cars i can tell they are designed by champions and also the quality is amazing! Xray RX8 XCA hard-coated aluminium pinions

Xray introduce hard-coated aluminium pinion gears for RX8’s with XCA clutchbell. Cut from tough 7075-T6 aluminium and coming with a hard-coated surface for strength and durability the gears help to fine-tune the gearing of Xray’s 1/8th nitro on-road car. Made on a special gear machine, all pinions feature ultra-precise tooth shaping and ultra-true running for vibration-free operation. A fine internal threading allows for easy installation on standard or lightweight XCA clutchbells and each of the pinions, that are available as 17T to 19T 1st and 22T to 25T 2nd gear variant, comes etched with the tooth number for quick and easy identification.

Wollanka & Pignotti win at VRC Worlds

Martin Wollanka and Kevin Pignotti are the new VRC Worlds title holders in 1:8th Sportscars and 1:10th ISTC respectively. Martin Wollanka from Austria scored a well-deserved title in his 2014 VRC Worlds campaign after having to settle for second in the 1:10 ISTC VRC Worlds right behind Kevin Pignotti. Martin managed to turn things around in 1:8 Sportscars at the Lostallo event, driving to victory with a 4 seconds lead on Kevin Pignotti. New kid on the block Jakub Rozycki from Poland was lapped by Wollanka at the very last lap of the race when he needed a last fuel stop as to make it to the finish line in 3rd.

VBC Racing Wildfire D07 aluminium chassis

From VBC Racing and made for the Wildfire D07 touring car is a 2mm aluminium chassis plate. The part is machined from 7075 aluminium and it comes black anodised and with laser etched logos. As with all alloy chassis the plate comes in handy on high-bite surfaces such as carpet or treated asphalt as it reduces chassis flex making for improved balance and an easier to drive car.

New Radtec touring car & 1/12th scale options

Radtec have several new aluminium option parts for the Xray T4, the Yokomo BD7 and 1/12th scale pan cars available. First up is a single piece floating servo mount for the 2015 Spec Xray T4. The CNC-machined part is made from 7075-T6 aluminium, it sports a mounting hole for the inner battery stopper and it comes orange anodised to match with the remainder of the car’s alloy parts.
