Thilo Tödtmann wins at German Open Indoor Masters

The German Open Indoor Masters was held as part of the Faszination Modellbau fair in Friedrichshafen in the three classes of 1/8th Nitro On-road, 1/10th Nitro On-road and Electric On-road Bikes. In the 1/10th 200mm class Melvin Diekmann took the TQ from Tom Krägefski in 2nd and Traugott Schär in 3rd spot. In the final it was Thilo Tödtmann who came out successful from TQ Melvin Diekmann in 2nd and Marco Kaufmann who rounded out the podium in 3rd and who also scored the fastest lap of the racec in his first ever nitro event.

HotRace Cup 2015 – Announcement

After the great success of this year’s pilot race the HotRace Cup will come back even bigger in 2015. Taking place on the weekend of the 26th of July the 2015 race will be hosted by the Riccione Road Race track located only 500 metres away from the famous Riccione seafront, offering many opportunities to have fun, relax and enjoy a weekend in Italy. The event will again be accompanied by a beach party and also see the introduction of the all-new S-Hot Race and a Formula class. More details and a dedicated website will follow soon.

Jörn Neumann & Gerd Strenge part ways with Durango

Following their statement to dissolve their Pro racing team Team Durango now announce the split from the team’s front runner Jörn Neumann and designer Gerd Strenge. All parties will continue to work together during their notice period but it is also agreed to allow an early release to a new sponsor if that is required by either of them.

Kyosho Plazma LM Nissan R90CP kit

Kyosho soon have a new bodyshell variant of the Plazma LM 1/12th scale chassis kit available. Joining the Toyota TS020, the Porsche 962 and the Mazda 787B is the 1990’s Nissan R90CP No. 23. Based on the Plazma Ra competition pan car the Plazma LM series of cars build on a long wheelbase chassis with conventional T-bar rear suspension, a single central shock and dual side dampers. The highly adjustable front suspension is directly taken over from the LM’s competition sibling as are many parts of the rear suspension including the adjustable ball differential. The car is useable with a wide range of battery configurations including 1S to 2S LiPo batteries and four to six cell NiMH battery packs and comes almost ready-to-run including a brushed G20 standard motor, pre-mounted high grip foam tires and the highly detailed Nissan R90CP body shell.

David Ronnefalk confirmed at Team HB

Team HB have confirmed that multiple European Champion and former Kyosho factory driver David Ronnefalk will be joining their off-road racing team. As a multiple Worlds Main Finalist and double European Champion, Team HB are very excited to see what David can accomplish with the HB D413 and World Champion D812 in 2015 and beyond. Together, David, Ty and the entire HB factory and R&D team will help continue to develop and improve HB racing cars for more race wins and championships, not just for themselves but for all HB racers. David has been very successful in off-road racing at the National, European and World level, and he brings with him a wealth of skill and knowledge to Team HB. He may be only 18 years old, however the Swedish racing star already has a huge amount of racing experience that makes him a consistent threat for the top positions in every race he enters. He had this to say about the deal:

I would like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe and Team HB for giving me the opportunity to join the team. I’m very excited to get started with all the new products, and I’m sure we will have many successful years together. Thomas & Bidlake win at NZ South Island Champs

Thomas & Bidlake win at NZ South Island Champs

The New Zealand South Island Championship has recently been dominated by Mark Bidlake and Lee Thomas who brought home the wins against the region’s fastest drivers. Lee was really happy to take first place overall and a convincing TQ in 2WD Buggy. He then went on to also TQ and win 4WD Buggy for a double victory. Mark Bidlake then raced to a solid victory in 1/8th E-Buggy, having only raced his buggy only a handful of times before the event.

Drake, Guerrero & Castelan take JBRL Nitro Series titles

Drake, Guerrero & Castelan take JBRL Nitro Series titles

The 7th and final round of the Southern California based JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, California. The season end race also decided on the overall series titles with the 1/8th Expert Nitro Truggy class being won by Adam Drake who left Cody King and Drew Moller behind in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
