Serpent Cobra 811-E radio tray & battery straps

Serpent release new option parts for the Cobra S811-E line of electric buggies on the form of a light radio tray set and optional carbon fibre battery straps. Starting with the radio tray, the set is made from CNC-machined aluminium and carbon fibre and targets the hardcore racer who wants to reduce the vehicle’s weight and add an amount of rigidity while having easier access to the electronics. The set includes a machined aluminium steering servo mount, carbon fibre speedo mount plate, carbon fibre diff cover with aluminium top-spacer, and two 2.25mm carbon fibre battery-braces, which allow the use of slightly thicker LiPo packs. An aluminium antenna mount is rounding out the package. The parts are designed to fit all electric 811-series vehicles including the competition and RTR variants. The included carbon fibre battery braces are also available separately to upgrade existing kits.

Zen-Racing 1/12 rear pod

Zen-Racing 1/12 rear pod

Zen-Racing have launched a new rear pod assembly for the most popular 1/12 cars on the market. The rear motor mount and suspension part is made from high-quality 2.5mm carbon fibre and aerospace-quality aluminium. It is of a full box design to keep the pod rigid and square under the extreme forces of the modern brushless motors. Existing rear pods with plastic ride height adjusters can distort under the torque from the motor, the Zen option stops this and it also incorporates a sliding ride height adjustment for the rear axle doing away with the need to remove the shaft to adjust the ground clearance. An optional carbon shim set is also available offering adjustment steps down to 0.15mm. The upgrade part is available for Associated, Yokomo, CRC, Serpent and other chassis.

Team C TM4 4WD buggy – Sneak Peek

Team C TM4 4WD buggy – Sneak Peek

After launching the TM2 2WD mid-motor off-road buggy Team C Racing now takes the platform to the next level by announcing the TM4 4WD buggy. The TM2, simply spoken, is a mixture of a 4WD rear end combined with the front end of a 2WD buggy and is designed for 2S Shorty LiPo battery packs only. The motor is located on the opposite side with the steering servo and receiver being mounted in the front “2WD part”. By the looks of things the upcoming TM4 will make use of the exact same weight distribution and design concept: Shorty LiPo pack in the rear together with motor and speedo while the servo and receiver sit in the front. Given the CAD rendering the chassis will be made from aluminium in a long wheelbase configuration while the motor mount and suspension brackets are also being made from alloy. Other features one can spot are big bore shock absorbers and possibly large 14mm wheel hex adapters. No word on a release date yet but maybe we can spot prototypes at next month’ IFMAR World Championships in California.
