RPM Slash & Stampede ESC cage

RPM Slash & Stampede ESC cage

RPM introduce this speed controller cage for the use with Traxxas’ VXL-3S ESC. The cage is designed to eliminated the use of the two undersized speedo mounting tabs in favour of a complete cage system that solidly locks it in place. By completely surrounding and capturing the VXL-3S ESC, damage from broken tabs and ejection from the vehicle has been completely eliminated. The cage, that is available in black and blue colour, works with all VXL Stampede 4×4, Slash 4×4, Slash 2WD and Rally chassis and it can also be used with the Rustler, Stampede 2WD and Bandit when combined with the Traxxas #3725 mounting plate.

Shepherd Micro Racing announce that Worlds finalist and multiple European and German champion Dirk Wischnweski joins their factory racing team for 2014. Living close to the Shepherd company he will be heavily involved in the development of the Velox V10 Pro sharing his huge knowledge with the team. In the upcoming season Dirk will attend the ENS series, the EC in Valencia and the Worlds in Bangkok as well as some regional races giving track side assistance to fellow Shepherd racers. Dirk had the following to say:

First of all I would like to thank Xray for their support over the last few years but now it’s time for a new challenge. I’m really happy to work together with Patrick and the rest of the Shepherd crew for the future. It was not so easy for me to make a decision for the 2014 season but when I think about the small distance to the company and the great improvements Shepherd made on the Velox V10 last year I’m really optimistic and looking forward to attending the upcoming races.

The 20th running of the World famous offroad Reedy Race of Champions has gotten underway at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California with drivers getting their first taste of the track with a round of 2WD and 4WD practice.  Overall the feedback on the track from drivers is a positive one the majority agreeing while not the most technical of layouts it should produce good racing for the heads up racing format which the Reedy Race is all about. 2WD World Champion Jared Tebo however was one driver not so complimentary describing the track as ‘not good at all’ adding it was ‘way too easy’.  In terms of times on the freshly laid track it was Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans who set the pace in 2WD with a 20.373 second lap while in 4WD Absolute Hobbyz driver Barry Baker topped the times with a 18.991 lap.
