Shepherd introduce their Premium ball bearing oil which completes their new range of Premium Oils announced a few weeks ago. Together with a leading German oil manufacturer they have developed a completely new formula especially for the higher temperatures in an nitro rc car getting the perfect viscosity on the track. Reducing the friction in the drivetrain it decreases wear and improves the performance and lifetime of the ball bearings.

JJ Wang joins HB/HPI Factory team

JJ Wang joins HB/HPI Factory team

More Team HB / HPI announcements with JJ Wang set to again race for Team HB in Electric 1/10th Touring Car in 2014. JJ has previously represented HB / HPI competing with the TCXX in Europe, America and Asia on behalf of HPI China but he has now joined the ranks of their World Championship winning HB Factory team. JJ had this to say:

Electric racing is something I want to excel at, and to be part of the HB Factory Team gives me the performance, support, and confidence I need.  I am really excited to be part of this team! Thank you Mr. Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiroyuki Kasuya for giving me this opportunity.

Serpent confirm Mike Truhe signing

Confirming what we already knew, Serpent have confirmed that top US driver Mike Truhe is joining Team Serpent. Mike is a highly respected and experienced rc driver with a long list of race victories including 3 ROAR National titles and will be helping support the growing line of Serpent cars. Mike will be mainly running the offroad cars in 1/10 and 1/8, EP and GP, and the planned 4wd 1/10 buggies and SCT as well and even mentions that he will try some gas onroad.

Yannick Aigoin to run Ultimate engines & Pro-Line tires

Former European Champion and French Championship front runner Yannick Aigoin has announced that he has made the switch to Ultimate engines and Pro-Line tires for 2014. The Associated team driver who previously ran with nVision engines and Pro Circuit tires made the announcement from IBR Padova, where he is competing this weekend at the annual Italian Job race. Yannick had this to say:

I’m really happy with my new package and cannot wait to race with it … Off course, I need time to learn this but I’m very confident this will give me the best chance to achieve my goals in 2014. I’d like to thank everybody who made this possible!

TLR 8ight-T 3.0 truggy

TLR have announced the 8ight-T 3.0 truggy, this latest version benefiting from the same engineering and expertise that made the 8ight 3.0 buggy a ROAR National Champion. Everything from the suspension geometry to the body and wing design has been refined so it is easier for racers of all skill levels to drive faster and lower lap times. In terms of suspension geometry it has been refined to give racers of all skill levels a neutral handling truggy that is easy to drive fast. 15-degree, non-inclined caster blocks raise the spindle, allowing the vehicle to soak up bumps with less dog bone plunge. Redesigned front arms improve front wheel clearance and increase steering throw. Camber and shock locations on the shock towers are optimized for quick and easy tuning.

Reno Savoya confirmed with Xray for 2014

Coming as no surprise, Xray have confirmed that multiple European Champion Reno Savoya will stay with their team for 2014. Reno has been very valuable member of R&D team and has been working closely with Juraj Hudy on the all-new XB8 development as well development of the 1/10 off-road platforms. Reno had this to say:

I started to work with the Xray team back in September ’11. I can’t be more happy and proud of all the hard work we’ve put together in order to develop and increase the performances of the Xray line. For a long time I was looking for a serious R&D implication and improvement of the products I was working on. It’s unbelievable the capability, both human and technologic, this company enjoy everyday in order to produce the best quality and performance products. At every level, professional driver or basher, we can feel the spirit of racing is in the DNA of the house! I had a wonderful year, with many big achievements, and I’m really looking forward to 2014 to carry on our trustful relationship and push my results up to another level! Like usual, never hesitate to walk around my pit area for a chat, it’s always a pleasure to share set-ups, knowledge and experiences!
