Edam Zoom 1/8th EP buggy

Edam Zoom 1/8th EP buggy

Edam have released details on their new 1/8th scale belt drive 4wd electric buggy called the Zoom. More known for their on road exploits, this is the company’s first attempt at the offroad market. Unique in the sense that it uses a fully covered 2-belt system instead of a shaft drive in a 1/8th scale, it looks more like a blown up 1/10th scale. The car can be configured to accept 4 different battery systems, single or double 7.4V packs or single or double 11.1V packs, has a 5mm thick aluminium motor mount and shock towers and 13mm diameter metal shock absorbers.

Sakura 54mm PTFE coated shocks

Sakura 54mm PTFE coated shocks

3Racing have released their new Sakura 54mm touring car shock which has been given a complete overhaul in terms of design and materials used. Can be used on most high performance touring cars thanks to the long 11mm shaft stroke, the new 7075 hardened aircraft grade aluminium shock body complete with PTFE coating gives the shock body the smoothest operation and superior durability. The newly designed shock cap now includes a bleeder hole for easier release of excessive shock fluids while the spring preload adjuster has been given a hex shape instead of the usual round shape for easier grip. The pistons and shaft liners have been upgraded to CNC machined POM for the best fit and durability and complimented with titanium nitrite coated shock shafts for the smoothest stroke actions.

Speedtech RC have announced their new line of 1/12 tyres called MobGums Trueruns. After countless test sessions the result is an outstanding performance on the track. Their new wheel will be fluorescent yellow for maximum visibility with the offset on the rear wheels has only changed slightly compared to their old tyre line, while the front wheels will be smaller to increase steering and to allow faster cornering. The rubber donuts are now cut in a special way that improves traction overall which during their test session proved to be an advantage. Aside from their already existing rubber shore structure, a new pink soft compound will also be added.
