Alex Vaughn RC 8ight-X rear 5mm carbon shock tower

Alex Vaughn RC have announced their new 5mm carbon fibre rear shock tower for the TLR 8ight-X and XE buggy models. With performance and durability in mind AVRC focused on corner radius, chamfering of edges and material. The designers also focused on limiting sharp corner radius to provide strength and rigidity, in addition chamfered edges were added to both sides to help limit material fraying during extreme impacts. The design also includes the option to move the wing mount up 10mm from the stock position. As for material the shock tower is machined of 5mm thick 3k Twill weave carbon fibre with matte finish.

1up Racing UltraLite aluminium hardware

1up Racing expand their line of UltraLite hardware with three new arrivals in the form of 6mm and 8mm M3 Perfect Centre as well as 16mm diameter off-road wing screws. The UltraLite Perfect Center screws feature a 3mm neck perfect for centering upper shock mounts, shock towers, bulkhead caps, upper decks, spur gears and so on. Because the neck is very shallow these can be installed and removed easily but always find perfect center when tightened.

Alex Vaughn RC NB/EB48 2.0 carbon shock towers

AVRC Products have announced their 5mm carbon fibre shock towers for the Tekno NB and EB 2.0 buggy models. With performance and durability in mind the design focuses on corner radius, chamfering of edges and material. AVRC focused on limiting sharp corner radius in the design to provide strength and rigidity, in addition chamfered edges were added to both sides to help limit material fraying during extreme impacts. As for material the shock towers are made of 5mm thick 3k Twill weave carbon fibre with matte finish. The shock stays are available separately for the front and rear from now on.

Schumacher Cat L1/Evo short front driveshafts

New for the Cat L1 Evo and Cat L1 4WD buggies is a short front driveshaft conversion kit from Schumacher. Comprising new short Roche double-jointed driveshafts and longer, durable steel diff outputs, the kit increases the responsiveness of the car and provides better drive on the exit of turns. Both the driveshafts and long outdrives are also available separately for spares or repair.

Josh Ford doubles at Dakota RC Summer Series Rd1

Dakota RC of Jamestown, North Dakota held the opening round of their Summer Series last weekend, attracting 70 entries. In 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Josh Ford with the overall TQ and he also came out swinging in the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind GJ Kim in 2nd, some two laps down. Lathin Rahmann would complete the top 3 result another eleven seconds back. Over in 1/8th Nitro Truggy it was again Josh Ford with the overall TQ and win, as Roscoe finished in 2nd, some three laps behind Josh. Zander Johnson came in 3rd, another lap down.

Exotek DR10/DB10 alloy steering rack & servo arm

Coming from Exotek are two new aluminium optionals for Team Associated vehicles in the form of an aluminium steering rack for the DR10 and DB10 vehicles as well as a general purpose aluminium servo arm. Starting with the steering rack, the part is of a heavy duty design and it is compatible with all DR10, DB10, and B5-based trucks and buggies. The part is precision-machined from high-quality aluminium and it comes polished and blue anodised for that factory racing look.

Nikolai Lamberts wins at Danish Off-road Champs Rd1

The opening round of the Danish 1/8th off-road Championship was hosted by the Skanderborg RC club last weekend. With Nitro Buggy being held on Sunday, it was time for the E-Buggies and Nitro Truggies on Saturday. The latter saw Pelle Culmsee taking the TQ honours from Nikolai Lamberts on the 2 spot. The 45-minute A-main final then had Serpent’s Nikolai taking the winning honours some three laps in front of Mugen driver, Jan Hansen in 2nd. Steffen Culmsee (SWorkz) completed the top 3 result some five seconds behind Jan.
