Mugen MRX-5 CAD Images

Having already covered the new Mugen MRX-5 1/8th scale chassis in our Nuremberg toy fair coverage, the Japanese company have released better quality CAD images than those on display which we had photographed. According to Mugen, the release date is not yet fixed but they expect to announce more information about this in the near future. In the meantime check out the images.

Andersson heads Euros qualifying after 2 rounds

The 2nd round of qualifying and an interesting second day is over at the Indoor Euros in Finland. Christer Andersson who runs a highly modified Team Associated TC5 is tied in points with Ronald Völker who is running the Yokomo BD5. Völker´s car has new chassis which is made to accept just LiPos and Viljami Kutvonen who is 5th in the overall points also runs the same car and has been looking solid since. I talked with Völker´s mechanic from Yokomo and they hope the kit will be out soon.

MIP Traxxas Slayer & Summit options

MIP have released a number of new products for the Traxxas Summit and Slayer, starting with these spline and center CVD kits, which replace the plastic drive shafts with hardened high strength alloy, used for high power electric systems. MIP Spline technology accommodates both long and short travel suspensions and comes with 6mm bores for new style output shafts. MIP have also introduced an adjustable 2 hole clutch kit for the Traxxas Slayer that has two sets of holes for light or heavy setting and are pre-cut to ensure symmetrically even wear. Easy installation and operation, they offer great durability and wear resistance.

Ronald Völker TQ’s round 1 in Finland

Indoor Euros Controlled Practice update

So the first round of qualifying is done and it was Ronald Völker who carried forward his pace from controlled practice to take his LRP powered Yokomo to TQ spot. Völker made some really fast times during the first 5 minutes, but local guy Christer Andersson came really close at the end with a safe run. Christer told that us his car was a little on the difficult side to drive and he needed to drive really smoothly to avoid mistakes. For the next qualifying round he plans to rebuild the diff and hopes to take top spot.

New from O.S. Engines is the Max-25XZ Truggy Engine, that utilizes the best balance of power, fuel mileage, size and weight within ROAR regulations to give racers optimum performance at 1/8 truggy and stadium track events. This motor is designed to have more power than .21 class engines, yet less than the .28 class, for better fuel mileage, lighter weight and lower centre of gravity. Dario Balestri extends deal with Motonica

Dario Balestri extends deal with Motonica

Motonica is pleased to announce that their top driver Dario Balestri has renewed his contract with the Italian company. The multiple European Champion and World Championship finalist, will race in 2010 with the new P81 Pro 1/8th scale. Dario had the following to say about his renewed deal:
