Kyosho Tokyo Hobby show update

Following up on the teaser that Kyosho presented us with some weeks ago on the Ultima SC, the Japanese company has shown off their new Short Course truck on their booth at this weeks Tokyo Hobby show. We unfortunately have no more information on the car other than it will be available as a readyset. Also shown on the Kyosho booth was the Inferno GT brushless conversion with other items of interest announced at the show being a Takaaki Shimo edition V-One RRR and a Shin Adachi edition V-One SR.

Phat Bodies Zen & Blackjack shells

Two new shells from Phat Bodies for both the X-Factory X-6 / X-6 squared and the LRP Shark ST. The new Zen shell has been revamped and made better for the X-Factory car and sports a new sleeker shape and made lightweight by using 0.8mm thick polycarbonate in place of 1.0mm and comes supplied with a front wing. For the smaller scale, the new Blackjack is a mini short course body which captures the look of the class very well and is supplied in 0.8mm thick polycarbonate.

VP PRO have announced the release of their new graphic decals. These general purpose decal sheets are not pre cut for any particular body shell and so can be used to smarten up any make of car. Available in a variety of colours and styles, the stickers are easy to apply and durable. They can also be used on any manner of other race equipment, such as your transmitter or starter box.

New from Italian company Lipotech is their XR series of sensored brushless motors. Available in the usual range of winds, from 3.5T to 21.5T, each motor comes supplied with sensor cable and 2 additional sintered rotors in 12.48mm and 13mm diameters, to help you tune the performance.

Serpent 733 Sirio engine mount

Serpent have released this new top-engine mount bracket to allow the user to fit the latest version Sirio .12 engines into the 733 chassis. Due to the positioning of the holes of the Sirio engine-mount and the case shape being different, this special mount is needed. Made from top quality CNC machined aluminium, it has been engraved and anodised and is a direct replacement, with no other modifications needed.

Reece Sawyer joins UK Xray team

Reece Sawyer joins UK Xray team

Xray have announced that British driver Reece Sawyer has joined their team.

RC Disco & the UK Xray / Hudy team would like to welcome the young rising star Reece Sawyer to the team. Reece at 19 has showed great maturity & pace in his racing this year which has rewarded him in the BRCA National series as he has made multiple national main finals & TQ’d qualifying rounds which is no mean feat. Recent winner of the French GP Noeux les Mines & Worlds 08 Qualifier being just a few of his results. Reece & his pitman Tony, his father, have agreed & announced that with immediate effect he will be using the Xray 808 Buggy & Hudy tools, with his other sponsors RC Disco, KO Propo, Proline, Byron, Savox, SMD & MK Racing gives him great equipment to keep him at the top of his game.

Tamiya TRF416X 190mm Touring car

Tamiya has come out with the successor to the World and European conquering TRF416WE, with the release the TRF416X. Developed using information and feedback provided to them by their team drivers, it sports a number of refinements to help better what is currently the benchmark in touring car racing. New changes include the motor position having been shifted 1mm to the centre for optimum chassis balance, while the rear ball differential has been shifted 1.8mm towards the rear to improve rear traction and acceleration. Wider front bulkhead attachment screw positions and a new lower deck shape enhance the chassis’ front rigidity and there are new carbon 2.25mm lower and 2mm upper decks as well. Finally the front pulley features a direct coupling while the center pulley also features a direct drive setup.
