The 6th round of South regional qualifiers for the German Championship was held last weekend in Türkheim. Perfect weather greeted all the racers, meaning drivers could test a lot and find the ideal setup for their cars. In the qualifying heats Erik Dankel, driving a Velox put on a great show, setting a new track record of 12.1 seconds on his way to pole position ahead of Andreas Hammerl in 2nd and Jan Dankel in 3rd. …and a 0-14mm body reamer. The tip of the screw driver has been made of hardened steel which has been ground to provide a long life and a precise carburettor set-up. The exhaust spring remover can be used for both inserting and removing the exhaust system springs as well as adjusting the camber in the rear of the Velox, while the body reamer is ideal to bore holes in lexan bodies up to 14mm and is supplied with an aluminium cap to protect the tip from being damaged. …following. Wui Kiat ran out of fuel around the 15min mark which dropped him to 3rd position and promoted Sam Cheng to 2nd. Nelson Lee in the meantime was comfortably leading the race until his front belt broke and had to retire from the race moving Cheng into the lead with Jesse, Wui Kiat, Don Chng and Andrew Chin following close behind. At the 25min mark Don Chng driving a Shepherd Velox, in its first race, managed to take the lead and never looked back taking the win ahead of Andrew Chin in 2nd, 3 laps behind, and Jesse Wu…

Last weekend saw the European ‘B’ Championship for 1/8th scale on-road held in Kirchberg, Austria. The race saw 125 drivers in attendance and after 4 thrilling qualifying rounds it was Shepherd Velox driver Richard Volta that claimed the pole position ahead of Novarossi employee Michele Baruzzi driving a Serpent in 2nd. The 3rd spot went to Mugen racer Marco Müller from Switzerland, while the final direct qualifying position was taken by another Serpent racer, Agostinelli Giordano.
